Sorry to hear that OP. Wishing you the best; both in getting the unemployment figured out and lining up the next job.

    No apology needed.
I just feel bad for them.
One is a very good friend that is young and it really screwed her over.

Sorry to hear. Hopefully you have better luck than my husband. He got laid off in early November only to find out when he went to file that someone was stealing his bennies and using a burn account. He was directed by the unemployment office to do a fraud claim, police report, and call the credit bureaus- so he did.
His account is still locked from it. Nobody knows what the hell is going on, no timeframes, calls the minute they open multiple times per week and typically he will be on hold for an hour trying to get ahold of someone and then get hung up on. Hes since given up, sold his house and moved into mine, and moved on and started self-employment. At this rate he’ll have better luck with that.
I don’t know what people do who dont have that kind of backup support/places to go. Makes me sad.

That s terrible. I ve had my identity stolen once so, I sort of know what he has gone through. The lame brain who screwed me over was so brazen that he went to a Bank of America, and had a debit card made :rofl:with my name, and his picture on it:rofl:. He was using my address. No doubt his plan was to hijack the mail when it came, but mail was picked up before he got to it. The Feds was trying to blame me, until I showed them a photocopy of the debit card. The idiot is now a proud owner of a 6x9 room in the luxurious Dept. of Corrections.

Frankly, I believe identity theft at this level is deserving of the death penalty. The victim is usually paying for it for the rest of their lives.

I got a phishing email about my Discovery card a few days ago. Never had a Discovery card. I just deleted it.

I caught covid over a month ago, and was over it in no time. The cough lasted a bit longer, but the rest was like 3 days. Yea, I read that too about the waiting week being waived during covid. I had a bit of pto accrued when I got layed off, so my income didn t jive with unemployment. My first week was denied.

Yea I got unemployment for 2 months during the 1st shutdown(approved for 52 weeks). It was wonderful I never got unemployment before but I could live on $2000 every 2 weeks. My boys and I got new bikes and we rode everyday. It was like vacation while half of my company was still working. I told my boss to make sure you make me the last guy you call back to work.
