@TP30 regarding your comment about swapping out in can be done but it’s a pain. I was tired of waiting to swap out my 2018 1794 to the honeycomb so I ordered a 2017 platinum grilled and swapped inserts with a dealerships SR5 to have the colors matched. Those plastic tabs are harder to take off the painted vs the chrome grill.

That looks so much better. I am going to go the same route when I get my 2018 Limited. Still not sure what color I'm going to end up with, but I'm definitely swapping to honeycomb grill and painted surround/bulge. I thought about swapping the limited insert to keep a little chrome, but it sounds like that would be a PITA and I honestly like the look of the honeycomb better.

 

@SATX_ProRunner, Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I wondered. Great looking truck too, It looks much better with the honeycomb and color matched surround.

 

Looking to put the matte black bumpers ends on my new cement limited. what are the liner extension seals and why do i need them? the black bumper ends will match the middle portion correct? also which door handles would i need if i'm not going to paint them.. keep them matte black to look like the pro..thx

Ok, I'm new to this forum and I'm sure this question has been asked a few times.....so I apologize in advance. I am very close to purchasing a 2018 Tundra 4x4 Limited in the Cement exterior color. The problem is, in my opinion, that the front bumper end caps, grille, mirrors and door handles are chrome when they look so much better in cement (bumper end caps and portion of grill) and black (the other items).

Roman or anyone else, can you please direct me how I can accomplish this revision after my purchase?

 

I’m looking at the same setup. From what I have gathered you will need to have the front bumper caps and grill painted locally. The hood bulge in Cement and black door handles and mirror caps can be ordered and installed pretty easily. I’m not sure if I’d go with all black mirrors or get color matched. I’m also not sure if I just want the limited grill painted black or if I will go down the honeycomb grill path and need to purchase the platinum grill and have it color matched.

 

Go to the first page on this thread. Purchase the trd pro grille and hood buldge in cement and swap your current grille insert into the color matched surround. Bumper end caps need to be painted or vinyl wrapped or left black, purchase cement mirror caps and swap, cement door handles or black door handles swap those. I just did this. Currently there is no way to use the trd pro grille insert without a lot of modification that im currently working on

 

Would the 1c part be the TSS? Be so pumped

 

Thats what it looks like, hopefully it is.

 

Im pulling the grille back off the truck tonight and taking the emblem and TSS apart and trying to see if I can retrofit the sensor below the pro grille. The TSS is square shaped its not the same size as the emblem. For some reason I like it a lot better then the honeycomb swap I did

 

The extension seals are different on the chrome bumpers than they are on the plastic bumpers. The bumpers are the same material that the center valance panel is. For the handles, go to the first post and there is a list there for matte black handles with quantities for each part you'll need.

 

That particular grille is not available just yet. There is not current ETA from Toyota on when it will be released.

Just to give an idea a bracket could be modified to use the TSS on the pro grille but its going to show and the wiring is going to show through. A few pieces on the grille will need to be trimmed also. I placed 2 tywraps on here to give an idea but im staying with my honey comb swap.

I already have a oem take off 18 grill, but not sure if they left the small cover on

 

The cover or hatch that allows quick access to disconnect the tss harness is not there but you cant see that when the hood is closed

Yea, you don't necessarily have to have the cover. It's up to you if you want to cover the hole. It's not visible with the hood closed.

So I see the new sport has color keyed front bumper corners. Any chance toyota will sell these prepainted?

Nope, I'm afraid not. Toyota has never sold any bumpers pre-painted. Loads of other parts available with paint, just not these unfortunately.
