If your buddy does great work I would use him. They can’t make you use any specific body shop, the choice is yours.

I'm sure your buddy does good work, but I would go to one of their preferred shops.
Chances are when they start taking things apart more damage will be found and additions to the claim may be requested.
That will be worked out much easier with one of their preferred shops and repairs will be done faster...

If you're in no hurry and your bud doesn't mind going back and forth with the insurance company, then go with him.
Although sometimes I've found when friends do work for someone, you are not a priority, their other customers are.

Stopped by his shop and the inner wheel well is definitely pinched. I don’t know much about frame damage but it doesn’t look good either. Any thoughts?

If you use State Farm's recommended shop, they give a really good warranty. They'll also handle all of the details if some hidden damage is found. If you use your friend, getting hidden damage covered can get really tricky.

Not sure if they are preferred with State Farm or not but Hendrick Collision center off 64 in Apex did a great job when I had an accident. Granted no frame damage but it went smoothly. Best of luck.

    Working on a chrome delete
Posting this specific cheat sheet for anyone else that might benefit. I came across @MJoeP's awesome 2.5 gen 1794 chrome delete before and after pics.[IMG]

I have a 2017 1794 with the TRD package. Just bought it used with 150k mostly highway miles for 25k. It's in perfect shape, and I'm so excited.

I want to recreate his front/chrome delete, and I decided to get all of the OEM parts and have the body shop paint them. Only deviation is that I am going to do 2019 TRD Pro Headlights and led foglights.

Here is a list of all the parts I need, per Roman's original post. This thread has been SO HELPFUL.

New Grille, hood bulge, and surround
53101-0C070-C0 Grille insert and surround; 2018-2020 trd pro
    76180-0C030 Hood bulge assembly
53141-34010 OEM Garnish for grille insert (going to buy a knock off Amazon)
53113-0C010 top piece on grille (not sure if I need this or not)
    90183-06044 Push nuts needed (x2)

    Front Bumper Ends
521120C908 The Front Bumper Extension Right Hand w/ sensor
521130C908 Front Bumper Extension Left Hand w/ sensor
    53882-0C060 Right Seal
    53883-0C050 Left Seal
    75392-0R010 Fog Light Clips (x2)

    Mirror Caps
    87945-0C020 Left Mirror Cap
    87915-0C040 Right Mirror Cap

    Door Handles
    69210-0C010 Door handles (x 4)
    69217-0C010 handle cover with keyhole
69217-0C030 handle cover without keyhole (x3)

    Headlights
    81110-0C211 Right
    81150-0C211 Left

    Foglights
    81210-0E050 Right
    81220-0E030 Left

If anyone thinks I've made an error on this BOM, please let me know!

I’m trying to figure out a problem I have and if anyone else has the answer to this:

I have a 2015 platinum. I bought the harnesses from iHacker - everything about that experience was perfect. I bought two of the 2018+ led headlights. The new headlights didn’t come with the bulb socket connector. When I figured this out and went to buy them, the Toyota listing says they fit tundra models all the way back to 2004. Are they the same? I don’t want to waste $80 on these sockets if I don’t need them. It doesn’t make sense that they would be the same because the 2018+ calls for a different turn signal bulb. I’m lost and trying to prevent tearing apart my front end before knowing this answer. Any help is appreciated.

Do you mean the turn signal bulb socket?

Yes. I think I figured it out now - I do need them. I was reading the listing wrong.
