I guess a Dyno day will be in order to get to the bottom of it. I think that will also put any speculation to rest about how linear the whp/psi scale is.

Time to think is the worst part about waiting.

Realistically I would think the power you want is more or less just determined by what you set it to. I would suspect fueling (as seems to always be the case with gas engines) will be the limit of power, and somewhere in the 1000whp range. But as we've talked about, the transmission will be the weak link, so your power is probably mostly a question of what you're comfortable pushing the rest of the truck to.

There are Dyno results pages and pages back to show it. The Dragy also shows it kisses a full G at launch and holds around 1/2 a G throughout a 0-60 pull, all at 6.7-7.0psi

Like my 1G pull is at 13psi vs yours. As stated your rwhp will be made at lower psi than a SC as we have about a 10-15% parasitic loss on the SC.

Yeah... I splurged on the fuel rails since I was placing the order, so injectors and increased lines could support it, but that damn transmission.

My real issue was trying to figure out if I could have spent 1/2 and still had the reliability Im going to get. I know I'm going to be happy, whenever that is. I'm just all up inside my own head, especially with this 70* weather we just had today.

Ah! This first part I did not fully realize. The second half I did. I just knew I was happy with my Dragy at the time knowing there was so much more to it, and I've seen other SC slips that looked similar and I just assumed it was proof the turbo lag is minimal compared to what was expected.

I think Jesse getting the white Pro dialed in and on the Dyno and then mine with the built motor will answer a ton of questions. Both in comparison to SC power curves as well as what the built motor shows compared to a stock motor, especially with the built motor running 12.0-12.5 afr and ever so slightly less compression.

So many questions and I just want the answers, like last week.

Ironically, the people that want to make a lot of power only have small superchargers, and the people with high flow setups are content at 10psi. I think a stock engine can handle way more than we've seen on the forum in terms of power, let alone a built engine. There's just not a lot of people willing or capable of experimenting.

I guess that's the point I'm missing. It feels like boost to me, but I guess I've also spent a year baby stepping through stage 1. I can completely appreciate your experience jumping into Stage 2.

If you hadn’t had a freak accident then you’d be trucking along just fine. But overkill is overrated and the piece of mind knowing your engine will sustain the beating is worth a lot.

And this. I am watching Rey and his boost drop. I keep for getting that part, too. Jesse and I have already been talking about some future thoughts for my build, so who knows. I do think we're just scratching the surface on the turbo applications and I'm probably reaching the limitations of my experiences to date and how they apply to the SC applications. The thoughts are the same, the scales and ranges could be different, though.

Thanks for talking sense to me, everyone. I try to have my shit together more than this. Lol

True story. It's how I ended up going my path vs a salvage yard motor. The unknown would kill me if I had a failure with a salvage yard motor. Especially after the catastrophic event.

My first kaboom was replaced with a salvage yard and been holding up...so far. I'm waiting for the 1.9 pulley to keep experimenting. I'm also looking for a used 2650 or Whipple to up the game.

I have had a couple gnarly G spikes on the launch on 8psi, stock gears, and I think these were 34s at the time. Nothing like spinning the front tires on the launch, and that’s with the powertrax! Not sure what that will look like once the 5.29s are in. It’s gotta be faster right? Have you done any good dragy runs since the 5.29 install?

Got a chance to make my full pull log and it’s right on the money. Got the approval to turn on the meth and bump it up a psi and that at this point the tune is dialed in. Then my Innovative MAP sensor died so it’s stuck on reading -26.8” of vac. Figures. New one arrives Monday and then I’ll do one more log with meth and an extra psi and if all is well, I’m gonna send it.

Thats a good pull. I haven't ran it yet. I was charging up the dragy yesterday thinking that I have yet to test out the 5.29's. I gotta do some tune changes tomorrow but hope to do a run before it starts raining again.

I figured the above post would be good for the discussion. That immediate spike to a full G is the only real difference I'm seeing in the speed curve. The rest is a give/take between the two.

It's interesting (though expected) to see the tiniest bit of lag compared to yours. Knowing my chart was a total of 5.21 seconds at 6.7psi, that amount of lag is so negligible in the grand scheme of things. The turbo is absolutely in the 4s, just need to get a slip for it.

Thanks for posting up! If you can get me the 0-60 chart for your 4.58, I'll update the above. Your run was the benchmark for a long time and was my goal to match.

Not bad for a couple of 6500lb chunkers! Our U joints definitely hate us.

I don't have the knowledge of how to.do it, but I'd be curious to see how much wear is on my VB after all the towing and all of the testing and tuning over the past year.

Put a note in with your VB core to please send you a full assessment when they do the pressure testing at WAT lol. Did you see the video of how they pressure test them for leakage with compressed air at their shop before and after? Makes me feel good about the purchase.

Good idea on the note/tag. Hopefully it survives the trip and they see it/want to support.

And yes to the video. All of the videos, actually. I'm impressed by their operation. Install instruction video was one of the best I've ever seen, too.

Want me to send you my Dragy for a week? :)

Also, you aren't alone on the sensors. Mine, completely randomly, won't read above 0.0 for a few days, and then will read fine for months. Not sure if it is condensation, contamination, or something else. I got a replacement under warranty that I haven't put in yet. Apparently (?) these are consumable items.
