Ok so they had a good long day the other day as far as getting most of it together. The instructions part and pictures takes a bit of time to do and write as they are trying to add parts also. Still have to do the gauge, the blowoff, water/meth, and the high flow cat. They also put the cooler set of plugs in as it is hard once the turbo is in. They have the fuel pump and injectors for stage 2 too!:)

Not much more to do as the shop will continue to button up some things that the instructions are written for and they hope to finish up on Monday with a start up and drive. Then the tune and double check everything then over to the dyno. After that on to stage 2. Everything went smoothly and no broken bolts or anything weird popped up. 6479A7ED-8F82-4E63-80B6-88941717ECAA.jpg

Keep on with the questions as I am sure Jesse will get to them as soon as he can.

was told they have something to remount the fuse box in a different way, they also have a heat protection cover for it too. Was told they went overboard on wrapping and everything that has anything to do with heat protection either moving it or covering it!

Cross over,,,,, the high flow cat is going in there somewhere??5048987D-B43C-4482-8135-057BDC1E25FB.jpg I think he said it is a racing cat that is built for high HP so it will handle the truck no problem.

also the return oil line to the pan needs to be ran which they will have to take off to do. As smooth as things ran they are hoping to run it on Monday I think he said?? Maybe Tuesday?? I don’t know now I am getting antsy!!

I don’t understand the last photo showing the merge to the TRD exhaust system. Wouldn’t it be better for flow to have the pipe out of the “Y” go straight rather than curve like it is?

Look above that one that goes to the duals that’s about it for fitment and room. The high flow converter goes cross ways then to the exhaust so I am sure some of that will change. Cat didn’t make it there it will be there tomorrow.

I should have some plug and play converters for sale in a few weeks!!!:)

And they are thinking my plate might not fit when they put the new cat on?? Going to have to think about that one??

Depending on time I might ask if they have an extra morning to see what can be done since it is at a big shop and they have everything there??

OP - I think turbos are Fantastic, especially in any area with elevations over 6-7K. I know others feel different, yet I cannot stand the loss of power once i get to around 8-9000ft, so much Roar and very little gains.

On the otherhand, my one turbo auto feels Nothing at the same elevation and even much higher, like a walk in the park. Looking forward to what comes next for you. Luck.

There is only one Turbo with a cross over piece.

No room for two. This is Stage one same for Stage 2 just the one.

Do you have emissions testing where you live?

Been a minute since I’ve done a turbo vehicle but generally the cat is after the turbo and not before the turbo because it matters not what goes into the turbine but only what goes into the open air afterwards which is all post turbo meaning anything from the down pipe back.

Exactly my thoughts also. I’m sure the room to work is very tight, but no cats pre turbo and 1 post turbo seems like the ideal situation here.

Yes that is the reason for the cat plus all the 02 sensors. Connecticut is very tuff on emissions and Texas is too. They are setting it up so it will pass all inspections. Me saying that the cat is going in the cross member could be wrong. I am getting the info in pictures and talking over the phone. They know it has to pass and throw no codes.

It’s just an obd2 test. As long as 2 of the 3 checks they want to see pass then you are good to go.

What year is you test mule?? I have a 2013 5.7... will the kits be bolt on and tune for gen 2.0 as well? Also it gets well below zero here, do you expect any reliability issues in cold weather?

The chamfer was not machined on the wastegate mounting vband flange, so the wastegate and clamp would not fit and seal properly, we had to pull everything down and redo the flange. Once that was fixed, everything fit like a glove. I’m actually VERY happy with just how well it all fits. I think it’s one of the best from start to finish that we have designed to date.

I see the waste gate but not sure about the exhaust piping? Surely they have some work to do to that? Or that might be part of the Stage 2 stuff? Also they’ll cover the fuse panel back there as I was told they have a thermal blanket type sumtin for that?

    BDEA1F46-00D6-4643-9987-2E18ED01884B.jpg

the waste gate can be piped into the open piece? I am waiting to see where the cats will be

The pipe from the waste gate is just a dump to open air. I’ve seen some run it back into the down pipe and some leave it open.
