I figure it is totaled so I have started shopping.... Looking for a good deal on a used one since they usually have a better warranty....and I am not too sure about all the new tech, it's awesome but sounds a bit buggy at the moment. Maybe a 2016 or 2017 TRD.

    DAMN!!!!

So glad everyone on your side of the family is ok. That is one hell of a hit from dead stop.

I would be looking at an attorney.

    Hopefully this asshole had insurance.

This is one topic I have no tolerance for. In today’s times, we have so many more options than getting behind the wheel.

Getting in that turn lane a little early might have been your saving grace here. Had you waited a second longer and it might have been a head on collision. Glad it worked out the way it did!!

I did this once. Felt okay and didn't bother getting checked. Back started to hurt a few days later. Had to get a lawyer to cover medical expenses.

I have zero tolerance for impaired drivers as I was also hit head on - guy got on the freeway going the wrong way. With Uber and Lyft there is no excuse other than absolute stupidity.

+1 on the attempted murder charges, you have my vote.

My thoughts exactly. There were a lot of things that happened that night I look at and wonder. We also blocked her from the car just behind us. If the Tundra hadn't taken the hit, that little car might not have fared as well.

Still waiting on the Insurance and lawyer to figure it out. We got them all the information so now it is the dreaded waiting game.

Quick update, other driver insurance pulled the typical "we have to investigate" bit on us... The adjuster actually had the audacity to say he didn't see the dash cam footage. I sent them the raw footage twice unedited with audio, then my lawyer sent it to them again. Now we haven't heard anything from them for 2 business days. Fortunately my insurance is doing a great job taking care of us.

Well, my insurance actually came back $2000 more than I had expected, I was shocked. Now I will be able to get the next Tundra, and have a little for some mods.

Good advice here. I was in my first accident in my early 20s with my wife in the car. They gave me the run around for weeks. Rather than letting my insurance do the work I was making the calls and getting nowhere. I finally lost my cool and told their insurance rep that my wife was pregnant and we didn't need this unnecessary stress they were causing us, leaving us without a car after their driver rear ended us running a red light. I think it was the word "pregnant"...but they cut us a fat check that day lol. Insurance companies are grimy pos snakes

Already got the lawyer, a friend pointed us to a good one. He has been talking to the other insurance company and handling our injury claims. Since my insurance is decent to work with, he felt it was OK to work directly with them. They will fight the other insurance together to recover the costs etc. My insurance has actually gone above and beyond so far. Makes sense, since they aren't losing anything they won't recover.

The other company just barely claimed fault this afternoon, due to "compelling" evidence. o_O I sent them the raw video with audio the day after the accident, then again on Monday, and my lawyer sent it to them 2 times as well. If I had waited for them my truck would still be at the tow yard waiting for an appraisal. Now comes the lawyers fun.

So sorry, I didn't see your post. The Lawyer is your typical Accident Lawyer that will be paid out of the settlement. His fee is 30% of the settlement.
