I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.

Battery range was and still is one big issue. Can't just change the world overnight either, you have parts production, current supplies, technician education, energy jobs and all that goes with them, etc. Change over is no simple task. Where does the electric come from to charge batteries? Coal, natural gas... it's not really electric, Tesla is bullshitting a lot of people.

I don't think it's Tesla that's spear heading the "Green deal".

Don't know much about locomotives, but my favorite to look at was the N&W 611 J jacketed steam engine. We used an old N&W locomotive roundhouse shop with turntable at Bellevue Ohio as a rebuild facility for Roadway equipment, machines that install rail, ties, and surfaces track. We let the folks running the 611 pull it in the shop over one of our bays before I retired. It had timken roller bearing journals and weighed about 500,000lbs. The folks operating the 611 told me it was balanced for 110MPH.

As far as trucks go, we own two pickups and I'm waiting for the new Tundra to be unveiled!

What do you mean by weakest? If you talking HP then the tundra isn’t the weakest . The Chevy 5.3 STILL remains the weakest for the V8 class. And the 5.3 has been out since when, 99-00. The 5.3 has 355HP 383TQ. The Ford has 400HP 410TQ. The Dodge 395HP 410TQ. And these are 2021. Up until not to long ago the big 3 were still under HP compared to a 2007 engine that just works. How many time have the big 3 redesigned their engines since 07. And let’s not even get into trans issues. Chevy once again has the most POS trans, even the 10 speed. Plenty of failures going on already. Ford also since they share the same trans. This is why people like Toyota. They don’t try to reinvent the wheel. They just make products that work and last.

New powertrain -- destroy the truck industry -- then it will be a steam engine: 100% torque at any speed.

Does the Chevy 5.3 have less torque than the Tundra 4.7?

I know a lot of people (GM fans included) have a lot of angst about how "underpowered" the 5.3 is. My brother just gets in and drives his without worrying about it.
