That's old advice. The American Heart Association, you know the ones who said all of that, have ninja deleted all their "red meat is bad for you" language from their statements. They just didn't announce it. That's part of what has people like Dr. Ken Berry pissed off at them. They gave garbage medical advice and may well be responsible for the huge uptick in diabetes and other diet related issues, and they are just quietly sneaking away from it.

The testing that concluded that didn't account for other factors like drinking, smoking, etc. It was garbage science. Same for the food pyramid.

 

I didn’t say anything about red meat. Cholesterol comes from many foods…

Btw, I’m laughing with this back and forth. It’s cracking me up. I don’t trust any online medical websites. We could find plenty that look legit and have mixed advise.

My doctor told me to change my diet to reduce my cholesterol. I did. It worked.

Just don’t tell him about what I’m eating this weekend cuz burgers and steak will be no bueno

 

For sure! Health is really individual. The info provided in that article summarized the current info pretty well, and most doctors follow it. Some still push for reducing diet, but your body produces it as well, so there are other possible factors. As the say at the end there, there are exceptions to the rules.

The first is an interview with Dr. Ken Berry in post #5 and the other one is the guy doing a massive intake of eggs for a month and showing his cholesterol and results. By no means am I saying take it as gospel, but it's more information for you to use to form your own opinion on your individual health.
