I think you would need a pretty large greenhouse for those winter months too. I think I could do it if I lived by myself but supporting a family makes it a bit harder to imagine doing something like this.

The thread won't go anywhere. The mods may have cold, shriveled, black hearts, but they still have hearts. The issue is too relevant to be silenced, but the mods will remove political posts.

 

If it's questionable why not just remove/edit and issue a warning? If it's not so blatant as to be an obvious 30 day, a little compassion given the issue being discussed could go a long way.

 

Totally understand the desire for consistency. I was just thinking out loud on it. I trust you guys to do a good job, and the fact that you all consult with each other on things is a good plan.

 

Reddit and Facebook are available to folks who have soapboxes. If y'all turned this into that, it'd have to come along with either way more attention to folks reporting, or just allowing all-out blistering post wars. Save yourselves the headache.

People here have joined an open-invitation private club, and if they don't like the way it's run they can move on. Sleep well about it.

 

And in the end, this is the truth of it. That's why I don't stress on it. It's not super hard to follow the rules. I've only been hammered once.

 

100% agree! I also do it for the Mrs. Don’t think she would appreciate hearing the extra truck talk while I was on a break. She puts up with enough of it as it is.

With the mods to the Wilderness, my only concern would be towing capability and I would heavily consider replacing the Tundra with it if I ever got bored. I think I'm more likely to wind up with a fun secondary vehicle than replacing the Tundra, though.

 

5k mile oil change today with Pennzoil Platinum, does this look pretty dark to anyone else?

 

Depends. You tow a bunch or drive in really dirty/dusty conditions? Lots of idling?

 

The 0W-20 Mobil 1 in the wife's Corolla looks like that after like 4000 miles. I think I have to just start changing it every 4 months.

 

Oh yeah, didn't even think about time passage.... I usually just go on mileage.

 

Yeah I guess all of the above to some extent, last changed in September.
A couple trips towing, dusty hunting season and some winter idling.

Roughly 1k miles a month? That's about what I average.

1k per month is a little lower than average, but shouldn't be terrible. I would chalk it up more to the "harsh" operating conditions.

 

Oh no, she barely puts any miles on her car. But her commute is less than a mile and we mostly use it for short trips in the city. And she just starts and drives without letting it warm up. Also, she's always either WOT or brake lockup when driving; there's no in between.

 

I've never met her, but she terrifies me.

 

That stresses me out for that poor little Rolla! You might want to start doing monthly oil changes, lol.

 

Mine is due in about a month or so at a 5k interval. I’ll try and remember to snap a pic so we can compare as PN Westerners under similar conditions.
