    It does but not the way you think lol (although their truck was the reason I got my tundra back in the day) The reason my truck got a break that day is because it's not comfortable enough for a long trips for my aging parents. They wanted to take their tundra because it makes it easier for them to travel long distance. I get along extremely well with my parents and would like to continue doing things with them as much as possible while they are still able to. As much as a 2.5 Gen tundra would fill the role of comfortable road tripper, I was not responsible enough and am still not responsible enough to keep my foot out of the throttle on that beautiful engine and gas was eating me alive. Not only that but it was far too wide for the roads I routinely find myself on. All of this is leading up to the fact that I am looking at getting a 4runner. Way back on the day that I bought my first Tacoma I actually sat in a brand new 4Runner and I looked at my sister and told her it felt like the vehicle was made around me, it fit like a glove. I didn't actually even test drive it though because it was too expensive but now I am definitely interested.

    Hmm, my vote is for the newer, higher mileage. Low miles can be detrimental too. Like if the car is run on many short trips and not warmed up enough.

    How many miles do you drive each year? Buying a higher mileage will save you some coin, but in 2-3 years it will be average or low depending on how much you drive…

    Yeah that's the double edged sword aspect of it, I put on a fair bit of miles every year so starting out higher will mean I end up getting higher miles quicker. I mean it is a 4Runner with the 4.0 though, so high miles isn't too scary. Lots of thinking to be had lol. Although this situation we are discussing is somewhat of a real one, I'm pretty much going to avoid actually entertaining the idea of buying one till spring because my truck is all set up and prepped for winter with winter tires and a remote starter whereas if I jumped into a new 4Runner I would be on whatever shit tires it has on it and no remote start

    Don't get me wrong, if I see an unbelievable deal I will jump on it, but with winter finally arriving I don't really want to be getting into a new vehicle if I can help it, especially since I have some stuff I have to pull off my truck before a trading it in and doing that in the cold is lame.

    I'd agree with @Blue Thunder 's train of thought. Assuming it was the first '24 off the assembly line in October 2023, the previous owner put almost 4k miles per month on it. Those are largely highway miles; and someone who's driving that much doesn't have time to go to Sedona and crawl rocks... Highway miles are much easier on an engine than jotting-around-town miles.

    To you future pit masters at high elevation, something to consider is, well, high elevation. Be aware of needing to compensate with temperature and duration. Maybe I'm off my rocker, IDK, but hear me out.

    When I got into cooking with a pellet grill (Traeger), I would end up drying the f*** out of meat or it would get up to temp too fast. It didn't matter whose instructions or advice I followed.

    So one day I got a crazy idea and thought it had to do with elevation. Everyday for a week, I boiled water and checked the temp at which it would reach boiling. I found that water at my elevation of 6,320 freedom units (and varying atmospheric pressure & density) would boil between 196-199º.

    I gradually reduced cooking temps by 10-20º so I could lengthen the duration of my cook and get more flavor and/or bark.

    I have a small Traeger because frankly, I don't need to burn through 10lbs of pellets every time I use it, which is primarily for my wife and me. I'll eventually go bigger. That said, I've not been able to smoke a full sized brisket, and will carve it up into thirds. Here's a few samples of how things turned out. Mind you, I'm still a newb.

    Brisket flat cut with dry rub then Susie Q's zero carb sauce (because Keto):

    Flank with a 24hr carne asada marinade:

    BBQ chicken smoked for 3 hours before cooking with high heat to caramelize the sauce and bring completely to temp:
