There's half a tank of fuel in there but according to the carfax the accident happened in March. It's pretty old fuel in there.

Something should cutoff the fuel in an accident but I'm not an expert.

Here is what I found in my owners manual:

    'Fuel pump shut off system

To minimize the risk of fuel leakage when the engine stalls or
when an airbag inflates upon collision, the fuel pump shut off
system stops supply of fuel to the engine.
Follow the procedure below to restart the engine after the system is
    activated.

Turn the engine switch to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position.
    Restart the engine.'

The easiest thing to do would be disconnect the fuel line where is comes into the engine and see if it is pumping fuel by putting it into a cup or something.

I also noted your check engine light was on. Have you put a reader on it to see what it says?

upload_2018-6-12_4-38-41.jpgthe light is on in the second video when it shouldn't be. Is this your video, or something that you just found and threw up here?

I would not be too worried OP.If it ran, even only briefly I would tend to believe that something simple is holding it back.As others have suggested you will need to confirm that the truck is getting proper fuel delivery and that it is not being held back by a safety feature due to the collision.

Seems like electrical gremlins as you mentioned battery problems. I’d put a new battery. BUT, also when doing that. Make sure the battery is disconnected for at least 30 minutes to assure the residual charges on the capacitors have drained off and computers will start fresh.

Have you been monitoring the voltage? Is is above 12.8 volts? Does it drop overnight ? Does it continue to go down?

I had a Ford that would drain the battery due to water in the fuse box/ electrical box. It was enough of the drain to kill the battery after a few days, yes really. Owning a ford you learn a lot about trouble shooting problems.. ended up being a leaky windshield.

More details that you may not want to do if not electrical inclined. The true test is to measure the current on the battery (negative terminal) with the engine off, doors shut, lights off. It should be very low, I’m not sure on a Tundra but my old ford it was to be about 40 ma, the drop to 20 amp. When my ford had the electrical problem it was on the order of 400 ma, enough to kill off a battery in a couple days of being parked.

If this helps you out a little, the red arrows pointing to fuel lines hook ups, that are attached to injector rail. Not sure but could need a special tool to disconnect.

Were all the airbags intact? I can also ask my brother about a fuel shut off if any.

Not sure if it'll start when airbags are deployed as it thinks it was (is) in an accident. :notsure:

That might not have to do with it. I've bought a few cars with deployed airbags and they all turned on.

I hope when you figure this out you will share what the issue was. If it ran for a second or so and stopped, I would be inclined to believe it is a fuel issue. If the tank had methanol or ethanol and sat, it is hydroscopic so water may be in the tank, filter, and fuel lines. Could be the fuel pump, blocked filter or lines.

God I miss the old days when you could actually work on cars. I remember sitting in engine bays and working on an engine.

Wife had a ford escort that I had slammed the door hard enough to trip the fuel cutoff switch. reseting it was easy on I figured out what it was.
