I'll let ya know how my trip goes when I get back. Oh and in the event there's a problem I'm taking my neighbors P2 with me for back up. I already bought the adapter harness for my truck.

This is good to know. I just bought my 2017 in January and haven't towed with it yet. I didn't even know the tbc had issue as I haven't read much on this site or tundra talk. Kinda wish I would have pulled mine out of my 2007 when I traded it in! Guess I should have just in case.

Anyway seems you got it sorted. Sounds like you are going to have fun with your new truck & camper.

Scrap the OEM brake controller, it's a paper weight and get yourself a good P3. ESP truck accessories has a good looking console panel to integrate the P3 so it looks clean. Save yourself the headache.

That is great news. For you and myself as well as many others, the Toyota controller works perfectly fine. It's really nice to have the visual on the screen too, which nobody gets with an after market controller. Update this after your maiden voyage!

IMG_1058.jpg Well gentlemen, it was a long drive but we made it back with the trailer with no problems. Here are a couple pictures of the trailer. The TBC worked well, I set the gain up originally at 7.0 coming through Ohio . After the brakes broke in (since they were brand new) and I started through Pa. up and down the mountains I boosted the gain to 8. The truck towed well the TBC worked real well and the weight distribution/sway control hitch was well worth the money. We had some wind but we did have lots of gusts. With the hitch system it just felt as if a tractor trailer blew by us. All in all I think we have a great truck and trailer combo. IMG_1060.jpg

Thanks Steve. It's not the biggest or the best but it fits our needs perfectly.

Ditto, it's an excellent looking set up! And I know how good it feels when a plan comes together.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Just remember when setting up the gain on the tundra follow the book step by step, and it'll work just fine. At least mine did.
