They are, but that is fine.
I'll see what they look like at night.
I thought about just disconnecting the Muths, but figured I'd like the side mirror, and I do.

Of course, I started this today and the driver's sdie puddle light stopped working.
Took off the door panel trying to track down the bad connection.
In the end, all I should have done was pull on the wiring outside in the mirror.
I guess my soldered connection weathered out.
I tugged the wire a little and it came right apart behind the mirror..
I wasted 40 minutes with a DMM tracking the short down when all I had to do was tug on the wiring.

That sucks to hear about the puddle light. I'm going to finish up the wiring on mine this weekend

I got a few VLED 2 pin 6ft / 8ft extensions so I have full runs without any splices in the door. So if there are any problems it will be in the kick panel or mirror lens (which I can just pop off).

I just resoldered and shrink-wraped it again.
I had to solder and shrink wrap the turn signal wires anyway since I had to run them for the Muths in 2015.
I have wires in the mirror connection plug that are supposed to be turn signals, but they have no power...

    Just an observation last night:

I have factory-tinted front windows and now have the spotter mirrors.
The rear window is factory tinted too.
I had all the door windows down while driving on an unlit road and came to stop around 10PM..

DAMN those tail lights are bright in the door mirrors.
Never noticed it as much with the windows up.

Still happy I got option A.
Nice to have brake lights on both sides and up top with the turn signal on..

Also, the amber spotter mirror turn signals look brighter at night.
Any brighter and they would get on my nerves..

    I'm very delicate...

    Thanks @memario1214

I ordered mine over a week ago and I’m still waiting for ANY shipping info. I understand these things take time to put together that’s why I’m trying to be patient. Can’t wait to get them on the truck!

Sorry about the delay! We were missing a component due to a misshipment on our restock that we didn't catch until we were building orders. We'll have it out today though!

This is the stop lights with running lights off

I have this in my 2014 Tundra. Love it. Great in nite travel, or bad weather. It’s a great product.

I'm hoping they save my truck. I had another close call last week with a cell phone addict coming up behind not keeping eyes on the road and that was the last straw.

I had a guy the other day just about hit me from behind. Scared the heck out of me. I commented to my wife coming home from a ski trip on the highway that the Tundra that passed me the tail lights are not very bright. I have been looking at options and saw this. I have a 2021 Tundra Trail in Cement Gray. I have some questions. How long do they last ? Can I see the installation instructions ? Do they last in Canadian Winters ?

The Vleds products in this kit will last. I have been using their products for years with no issues. The install is plug and play....very simple to install.

I love my Option A setup.
I waited a while before buying and I should have bought them when they came out.

    Installation is easy.
Pull your tail lights, do them one at a time
    Remove OEM bulbs and sockets
Replace them with @memario1214 connectors and bulbs

I already had a resistor for the turn signals from a previous install.
He provides them with the new setup if needed.

You can see install instructions here...

HotTails | 2014-21 Toyota Tundra – Hotshot Offroad

You'll be blown away of the difference between OEM.
You'll see it in your mirrors..

Having the upper and lower as parking lights and brake lights MORE than doubles your OEM setup.
The amber turn signals really stand out, day and night.
As well your reverse light will be much brighter than your OEM halogen.

For all the guys wondering. I have this set up. And I live in Alberta and we just had last week -38 c. Also the install in Plug and play and easy. I did have one bulb go out and the customer service was awesome and sent a replacement asap. Got a few days later. It’s totally worth the money. This is how the factory lights shoulda being.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    agree with above.

I did the Option A mod in 20 minutes.

go ahead and get the brite-box fogster as well...so your fogs stay on when you hit the brights. (when you are driving off road in Mexico...right)

I dunno. I thought that would be the reaction I got, especially once the tailgate light bar was also added. But it seems bright enough to be really visible but I've yet to see anyone squint or cover their eyes.
And they are illuminated enough to be able to tell

Thank you for the replies. The bulbs and harnesses look plug and play. Where do you mount the resister? I thought I saw something you have to mount them on metal ?

    • 2 VLEDS VLR-15 resistors to eliminate hyperflash. These will screw inline between new and existing equipment so they can be installed without any splicing.

I just stuck mine to the frame. They come with double sided tape. Just ensure you have enough slack to install/remove the taillight without having too much extra.

The resistors have high heat double sided tape and you stick them to the bedside. There's plenty of length on the pigtail to work with the rest of the harness that way.

I didn't need resistors on my kit for this.

I did need them on my fronts for the VLED triton turn signals.

As others have said just mount them to the metal in the pocket where the taillight leaves when you pull it out. Since they're not called upon all of the time we don't suspect that they would actually melt plastic in most people's use case, but affixing them to metal body is the way to go.

On the Option A kit there is a 5000k or 6000k backup light option ? Otherwise I just order the kit and everything come with it. They have ship to Canada I guess on check out.

edit. I guess 5000k look normal? 6000k whiter light

OK, I ordered, Option A 5000k tail light kit.

Now what’s the brite-box fogster. I guess I should have ordered that at the same time.

In the taillight pocket just aft of the welded nuts for the in-bed tie down loop there's a big flat area of the bed steel that works great for the resistor unit.

Took me 90 minutes to install, but I was being picky about everything. One of the lower bulbs was very tight going in and took a little finesse.
