I am pleased to announce that the Tundra total tail kits are finishing the development stages, and I am putting this thread together to help determine my market on the initial run! I'm definitely going to be putting a few of these kits together as I know at least myself and a couple others are absolutely in!

    IMG_2866.jpg

Here's a quick clip if you've been living under a rock and have not seen what has been in the works!:
    https://youtu.be/hieCANRC3UQ

Let's address the obvious first. The HotTails (aka Ultimate) kits will be based fully on VLEDS architecture which is not the cheapest LED option on the market. They are the current king in terms of output intensity, and are the only current manufacturer of a dual-filament red 921 LED bulb which is a critical component to making this work.

I know that VLEDS themselves has recently come out with a Tundra "Kit" of their own, but here's what makes ours different: Their kits are installed into OEM wiring via wedge adapters which will then be hanging loose in the taillight well. Ours will be utilizing OEM-grade connectors to allow for a watertight, vibration resistant, and fully plug-and-play seal between the incoming hardware and the OEM equipment. I'll let you decide how much value this has to you

    - Now to the cool stuff -

    Option A - $400 - We're calling them "HotTails"

Option A Available for Pre-Order NOW - LINK

    Features:

    • Upper and lower portion of taillight function as both parking as well as brake lights
      • Upper portion is VLEDS V6 Extreme bulb, and lower is VLEDS V6 Triton
    • Reverse/Clear section of housing is now converted to do both white reverse and amber turn signal functions from the same area
      • VLEDS V6 Triton Switchback is used here (900 Lumen reverse + 500 Lumen amber turn)
    • This setup is insanely bright, and completely transforms the functionality of the stock Tundra tails.
    • Fully Plug-and-play
      • Bulbs will come to you already assembled for your housing so you won't have to mess with VLEDS screws or gaskets
    Option B - $xxx - Full Tail w/o Switchback
** Still in prototype to ensure reliable output results**

    Features:
    • Upper and lower portion of taillight function as parking light
    • Brake and turn signal will retain their same positions, but will leverage the dual-filament to produce a hi/low instead of on/off
      • Upper portion is VLEDS V6 Extreme bulb, and lower is VLEDS V6 Triton
    • Central reverse area is retained for OEM functionality.
      • We will offer bundled kits for this to upgrade to Diode Dynamics XPR bulbs as well as other VLEDS options at discounted rates off of MSRP for the respective bulbs
      • Fully Plug-and-play
      • Bulbs will come to you already assembled for your housing so you won't have to mess with VLEDS screws or gaskets

Noice job. I like the look of the "Hot Tails" The right side looks "unbalanced".

That's exactly right! The one that looks broke or off is probably the one on the right? That is OEM functionality, and exactly what these kits are intended to change!

Question......So if you already have the V6 extreme in top and V6 tritons in bottom, (and in reverse bulb), is there going to be an option to just buy the module to tie it all together?

I don't know first hand, just word of mouth ~ a harness type option might be made at a later date.

Just doesn't make sense to me to have to "rebuy" the bulbs I currently have in the girl. I'm sure I am not the only one in this boat.

I agree. And for those who just want to source their own 'bulbs'

I feel it might change later, but for now we have a package deal. It's a start.

keep what you have as spares or sell them to offset the cost?

So the "short" answer is no we won't be selling just the harness. However, if that's all you need and you already have bulbs I am sure we can work something out. The only bulb that I am sure that you probably need though is the different 921 in the top portion of the housing. Your existing one is likely not the dual-filament and won't work.

Yup, the V6 triton 921 dual filament is the one I have, (didn't want to splice into the harness to add resistor so waited for it to be released).

    Question about the option B.
When the turn signals and brakes are activated, do the lights blink on/off or just dim/bright?

They would operate as normal because they would be dual filament.

Turn signal and brake will be in the same position on the taillight as it currently is, but will leverage the hi/low functionality of the bulbs to allow for them all to be on when the parking lights are on, and be hi/low when brake or signal is used.

I'll pull the description for now as I wasn't ready to take anyone's money on Option B yet anyway. Should be able to get something figured by the end of the month though. We've been talking through some other things here where it's like do we do a total tail with a brake interrupt, or do we stick with an upper and lower section like was initially described? We have some more things to work on for that one, and that was more or less an initial price point "reveal" and functionality!

The 921 extreme up top is 400 lumens to match the lower Triton which is also 400 lumens.
