Still running the red mirror turn signals?
That's what has me in undecided.

Nah....I noticed something on newer cars. They have red signals in the rear, and tiny amber signals in the side mirrors.

They would help more than a stock style mirror but not as good as a tow mirror for obvious reason

I email them a while ago on release date, they emailed back on 5/1 and said about a month. I've been checking every day. waiting for these to put on my puddle lights.

Unfortunately not. Unless I solve an economies of scale problem there's just not much meat on the bone. If you want them, snag them as I don't anticipate us being able to be able to put them on sale anytime soon.

I'm on board with this, but need some time for the fun fund to recover from kitting out my camping stuff. Do you foresee any supply issues that would make these go into a low supply/backorder status in the next 6ish months?

Not really. Right now we run pretty close to hand-to-mouth so we try to keep 5-ish kits on hand, but we're pushing that a little higher soon as demand slowly ticks up, and the ability to get harnesses assembled goes down as attention gets pulled in different directions. We always make sure to have bulbs on hand so we run into 1-2 week delays on connector delivery/assembly from time to time if we get a rush. Take right now. I have ONE set of Option A harnesses built. We have some more enroute, but with the upcoming Memorial Day festivities coming up through the weekend it just pulls able hands in different directions is all. Ex: Anything ordered above one now would probably ship late next week.

TL;DR - No anticipated issues with being able to fulfill these in a timely manner.

I went with Option A and added the VLED high mount brake light bulb replacement (not cargo lights though) and front DRL amber (not switchback) VLEDs. Colton at Hotshot Offroad supplied everything and was a huge help. I did need two of the large resistors on the DRLs and two of the smaller resistors on the rear in order to prevent hyperflash. All of it was plug and play and reversible of needed. I can get you photos if needed.

Just as a point, on Option A, all four red lights are both tail and brake lights. The backup light is also the amber turn signal. It is bright enough to still be visible through the brake lights at night. With Option B, all four red lights are tail, brake and turn signals. The backup is only the backup. The turn signals need a wire to be connected from the trailer wiring underneath the bed to provide turn signal priority. I really didn't want to splice any wires under my truck and I really like the amber turn signals.

I think the red lights in your mirror will be just fine. Visibility is what it's all about. I'm still staying with Option A for my vote.

I'm in the no splicing camp as well. Option B is almost perfect for what I wish I could have (would only have one bulb act as turn so brakes could be constantly illuminated if making a turn and I prefer all red lights) but I'd have to go with Option A to avoid the splicing and keep the brakes fulling illuminated during turns.

Just to be clear - NEITHER Option A nor B requires splicing into any OEM equipment. We supply a harness that goes in the middle of the incoming trailer wiring which then draws signal from the pass-through. Able to easily go back to 100% stock if wanted.

I like those spotter mirror signal mirrors.
I have little tiny stick-on mirrors now I use every day.
God damn that pic is big...:eek2::rolleyes:

    CB6EF9C5-3C11-48AF-B36D-53378D177D6D_zps_54f987aa5a7a6a59be658a82910c7290929b8c64.jpg

Those or Muth is costing to cost me over $200 just for mirrors.
Maybe I could sell my red muth mirrors along with my LED backup bulbs...:eek2::D

I think the amber Hotshots look cooler.
But with my issues (what a surprise there) I'd need the rear turn and mirror signals to match.
I thought about just disconnecting the mirror signals..

    That's a point I didn't think of, thank you..
I would like that as well have all brake lights even when turning.

    I don't mind splicing stuff.
I already have VELD resistors behind the rear light that covers front and rear LED turn signal.
Puddle lights, grille lights, AMP step lights, you name it.
    I'm soldering splicing MFer..

Chances are I'm overthinking the red amber signal/mirror combo.
I'd probably forget about it after I installed it.
Overthinking things is what I do best..:D

Yeah. That and the data from research that shows amber turns in the rear are actually safer means I'd likely go that route. I don't have signals in the mirrors, though.

When the first video was posted of the amber turn signals my initial thought was I HAVE TO HAVE THAT.
I should probably trust my first initial gut feeling and go for it.

I've posted here before my kids gave me the money for the Hotshot signals for Xmas.
Just waiting to get my truck back to buy them, might as well buy them now.
I'll put them in the garage with my Meso interior lights and the bed step my wife got me for Xmas..

While you may be overthinking the turn signal thing, I get it. I'm the same way. Now that Colton chimed in and clarified the splicing issue the choice is really what you want for you turn signals in the rear. I personally prefer lots of brake light every time I apply the brakes even with the turn signals flashing. I trailer often with my truck and having the amber turn signals in the mi/side pocket allows the turn signal to be seen from the side of the vehicle not just from the rear. I've noticed more people are willing to let me into their lane when I signal with them in my blind spot than the stock red rear facing turn signal.

Dammit, I spent too much money when I'm on vacation.
