The 22 tundra MTS works in 4hi also and not just 4lo because the 22 tundra doesn't have 4auto that everyone wants. It just has 4hi and 4lo. I guess it's meant to hold the road at high speed like 4 auto does in adverse conditions. Im not sure why people want high speed 4x4 modes as I've never used anything like that here in the south. Probably for the folks that deal with snow and ice. And I doubt you can lock up the axle in 4hi.

I'd be interested in seeing a chart that shows which off road selections you can run at the same time... 4hi 4lo locker MTS crawl...

I'd like it to have full time 4wd not just for bad weather but to handle all the torque it puts out. Every review video I watched when they punched the gas they spun the tires.

It would definitely help the tundra and most all Toyota trucks and SUVs because their gear ratios are so low in the axles transmission and transfer case as they are spec'd for highway cruising, high mpg, and long term reliability. If you watch the video of the new tundra going over toyotas log bridge obstacle you can see how he had to stand up on the throttle just to get enough torque to get it up on the first log even in 4lo.

Looks like you can use crawl and mts at same time per the owners manual page 378

How often do you put the peddle to the floor from a standstill in real life?

When the light turns green. ;)

But in the videos they didn’t have to floor it to spin the wheels, just give it a good push.

not sure if i would want 4auto or selectable 4x4 high with MTS but I think i would prefer being able to select it. Not sure if 4high would come in handy if you hit some standing water on a bridge on the highway that you didnt see...
