Surprised nobody has mentioned these. Had them on my Tacoma. If I were getting another MT it would be these.

Traded in with over 30k miles, maybe had 5-7k left. Literally thousands of offroad miles in every condition. Quiet, relatively light weight, road nice and smooth for a MT.
    Size was 315/70r17

Just got my 35/12.50r20 Nitto Exo Grapplers in today. They look incredible! I debated forever between an MT and an AT tire before finally stumbling across the Exo Grappler AWT, which is a good hybrid tire. I wanted the deep tread and aggressive look, but performance of an AT. This tire is it. It has the snow emblem on the tire, giving it incredible snow traction and looks mean as hell! Very little noise and very grippy. Can't wait to take on the winter and some trails.

These are actually on my mind a lot now after seeing the first pics posted here previously. I will definitely need new shoes next summer. Someone convince me not to get these (I'm not worried about tread wear in the least bit):[IMG]

Thinking about pairing the STT's with these rims. Seems to be the preferred rim with the guys at ToyTec. Very impressive rim up close. Simple design but BEEFY, very BEEFY:

And I'm old school too. heh heh. I bought Jackman rims when they first came out centuries ago for my 69 Chevy K-10 short wide 4X4:upload_2015-11-3_18-37-38.jpg

I owned a set. Put em on my 2001 Ranger 4X4 with the Cologne V-6 (made in Germany) Good quality rubber, wears well, and a huge seller for Discount Tires. Hard to find a bad review on these.

Love those wheels. My dad had them on his 78 ranger when I was a kid! I'm wanting to build my daughter the same truck for when she turns 16. She missed him by a month and 9 days and is named after him.

Jackman's were the first cool, race quality, aftermarket rims available back in the day. All steel .The simpler the better.

I have grandkids. Newest is now 9 months. (a boy). Glad I'm still around, considering my non-vegetarian life style. Heh heh.

Sorry guys if this may be redundant, but after countless days and hours ha h I still don't know what to do....I really like my stock wheels on my sr5 trd. But also want a whole new package... if I just kept my stock rims what would you recommend for a beefy MT/AT tire??? Thanks in advance....

the tacoma i replaced with my tundra got tires twice in the time that i owned it, once with bfg ko's and once with duratracs. at the end of the day both tires were very similar but if i was forced to pick between the 2 i'd go back to bfg's as the duratracs were a little louder.

I've had my Nitto Terra Grappler G2's (295/70/18; 34.41") for close to a year now.
To date, they've been pretty good to me. They aren't noisy in normal weather, rain, or snow.
They've been through our CO bi-polar, severe weather (mud, rain, snow, slush, a combo of all, etc) and have done well. The traction on these are great as is the even tread wear.

Sooner or later you'll hate Generals. Sorry. a bad pun on an old commercial nobody probably remembers. I owned Generals on my Durango. Never again. Had an inside out blowout. (obviously a manufacturing defect) They took 3 months to process my warranty claim and basically just offered me a small discount on a replacement tire which they didn't have in stock in any of their warehouses. Umm. no thanks.

Come to think of it, I believe those were Grabber ATs.

So basically they're trying to get in on the Toyo RT/Duratrac arena.
