Yeah, 42 might be to much, just started experimenting with different pressures. Gonna do the chalk test today and see how that works.

I honestly am not sure. I need to research it more too. That’s just what the tire store did. I usually try to keep my tires around that because it’s a smoother ride. As long as you keep it above 30 I think tire wear will be fine.

Well the stock tires that came on the truck were passenger tires and the Ridge Grapplers are load range 117T rated at max 50 psi. I'll let you know how the chalk test turns out.

    Those E-rated?
I run 42 Front, 44 rear until I air down for trails. But my truck is heavy AF. You can definitely feel ALL the bumps at 40+ but handles great on highway

Yeah, E rated, and max 50 psi. Says XL as well, which means extra load. But it's not an LT tire. I've been running 42 and the chalk test looks like that's the right pressure, or close to it.

Have about 300 miles on these Maxxis Razr MT so far. I've been extremely happy with them. There is a slight hum at highway speed, but it is extremely mild compared to old school mud terrains I've had, and heard roaring down the street in the past. Honestly these are unlike any other mud terrain I have driven, it's fantastic.

No complaints driving around the road, and they tore the grass right up and cleared out easy when I got in some mud.

Can someone recommend a good alternative to a Goodyear Duratrac? I like the aggressive look and tread life but they are very noisy and don't perform well enough on wet surfaces. Does anyone have a recommendation that is a good value, has a good aggressive look, tread life, and wet pavement performance? I do not go mudding or any serious offroading but do occasionally take it places like the beach and on tame trails. THank you in advance!!!

Give the Kenda Klever AT2 a look. Very affordable, good aggressive look, 60,000 mi rated tread in standard load and 50,000 miles in e-load. I have them and I'm very happy with them so far.

Check out the new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T's. They look pretty sweet and a 50k warranty. I'll be switching out my Duratracs when Discount has these Mickey's available.

This. I ran MT Baja ATZp3s and at 30k miles they were at 9/32nds (18.5 brand new) And this was with some pretty rough trails / off road, rocks etc. on a heavy truck.

On my previous rig (4Runner) I ran several sets of Cooper ST/Maxx and loved them. Probably my favorite tire. MTs a little more aggressive, ST Maxx a little more towards A/Ts.
Note: ST Maxx looks more aggressive in person

I used to use Cooper, but I found Milestar Patagonia to be a far superior tire off road. I have Cooper SST on my F150 but they are very noisy on the highway. I have Cooper ST Maxx on the F350 and they are quiet and do well, they are not as good as the Milestar.

To me the ST Maxx were better on wet pavement.
FYI both tires have amazing sidewalls

Like HugeMoose, I have about 3k miles on Maxxis RAZR MT in 35x18. They do have a slight hum but they are unstoppable Offroad. They have great city and highway manners as well. I lost about .5 mpg mounting these from stock 20s. Here's what sold me after months of research. RAZR Mts are the only MT tires with a 50k mileage warranty. 799D9FF0-A63B-4A7F-817D-66A6ADDBEF3B.jpg

After some research and deliberation, I've decided to go with the Kenda Klever RTs. I would have gone with the Cooper ST Maxx but could not justify paying about $120 more per tire. I hope they perform well. I should post a pic when they're on.

I'm glad to hear you like them as well. The slight hum they make, to me at least, is amazingly tame compared to other MTs. They definitely worked some magic with these. And yes the mileage warranty is a huge perk as well, however I do think it is 40k miles. The 50k miles I think is for the AT Razrs, which also looked pretty damn good! Even though I don't need MTs every day, they are there for when I do occasionally need them. My last tires for the Cooper ST Maxx, and I vowed to never get something less aggressive every again lol. Those were great tires as well, but just didn't come in the size I wanted, 285/75r18.

I think you'll be very happy with those; they have a great reputation so far. My friend just put a set, stock size but E rated, on his stock 2019 Ram. He's been very happy with them so far.

HM - You're right about the 40k mileage warranty. I got them partially because in my neck of the woods, everyone has Nitto Ridge Grapplers and I'm not a follower. I like my mud lugs and and I'm not afraid to jump a few curbs mall-crawlin! In all actuality, this pic is the only curb I've jumped recently - right after cleaning the rig. What's wrong with a little fun?? :D:D:D8C5093B2-F218-474C-8979-F10862964241.jpg

Haha I know, Ridge Grapplers are everywhere around here too and I also wanted something different. I actually smacked a curb leaving work 2 days ago, and I was definitely pleased to have beefy tires lol. I wasn't paying attention, and had I still had those stupid P rated stock tires I might have taken it out. The sidewalls on these are awesome too, I can't wait to put these to the test more.

I have about 50 miles on my 295/70r18 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T. Been very very happy with them. Very chunky but good pounding pavement too. Heavy, but I haven't noticed the weight like I thought I would.

I considered those too, but they aren't very aggressive besides the sidewall. I saw a few in person and was a bit disappointed. If you want another AT/hybrid type tire like you have before check out the Maxxis Razr AT. I have the MT version and love them, but I was very close to getting the AT. It has a 50,000 mileage warranty, and I think look pretty damn good too! The Razr MT is lightyears better than any other MT I've had before, so I'm sure these are equally impressive.

Hey guys, opinions on best rain/snow tire?
The rain is back here in the PNW, and these KO2's have got to go.
Totally useless in the rain, and road force balanced twice, but still shake like Michael J Fox.
I loved the Duratracs I had on my Tacoma, but wanted to try something new.
