My 07 was sold out of Larry Miller Toyota in Colorado Springs but it was brought to the Springs from Malone's dealer in Utah. It still had all the manuals and they were in a very nice leather pouch that was logo'd with Karl Malone Toyota. I forgot to keep it when I traded in my 07 for my 14.....

It used to be that the Larry Miller Group managed the Karl Malone dealerships - and then Karl got upset at some point and switched to another dealer management group. I do not remember the timing.

Yep still waiting! After I filed a complaint with Toyota corporate the customer relations manager at Karl Malone called me right away and asked what they could do. They agreed to either make the first months payment or I could use that same amount towards some accessories so I got some Rhino RB20s. Apparently the have no loaners so I'm still just sitting around with no vehicle which is getting ridiculous at this point.

I also tried to get Toyota Financial to work with me on the payments because I dont have a truck but they said their hands were tied since I guess I need to make the first payment to start the lease. After that I'm going to try to get a deferral. They encouraged me to just cancel this lease and look at another vehicle from another dealership. The crazy thing is that all the dealerships around here have no inventory, all of their trucks are either reserved or still incoming

That blows! Also, they are full of it saying they don't have a loaner. They have an entire used car lot that is "loaners" if they wanted them to be. Keep hoping to see you post that you finally have your truck and/or they did the right thing. Sorry it so delayed.

Did you try Toyota Bountiful? That's where I got my truck. When I was last in for the blinker recall and 20k maintenance they had several Tundras on the lot.

My truck came from another state and was four and a half hours away, but it was the exact truck I wanted, so they got it where I was to get a sale.

Thanks for sending those over I'm going to give them a call and see if they'd be willing to make a deal and move quick. The truck I have coming is an Offroad and preferred the upgraded suspension. Am I looking at this wrong thinking the Trail edition is a downgrade?

The TRD OR package boils down to some stickers, wheels and shocks. The Trail edition has its own wheels and to do better shocks than the TRD OR comes with will cost about $500. Heck - they might throw some 5100 or 4600 shocks in with the deal if anyone has them in stock.

The only thing you are really missing out on not getting the Off Road package is the LED headlights. The shocks really aren't anything special and the skid plate won't protect you from much of anything. The trail is technically a downgrade, but it also has the bed boxes. Those can be sold pretty readily. Somebody on the forum already did that.

Really, it's just the headlights. If nothing else contact them via the website to see how low the price will go. What they have listed is still high IMO, but that might be what things are going for now.

I would too, but I'd take a truck in hand rather than dealing with the shitshow dealer the OP has had to put up with. They've been more than a little shady and predatory.

Didn't know the TRD OR package got the LED headlights - that is a $700 fix.

The trail edition also has color matched grille surround, hood bulge, and rear bumper caps, along with black badges if you are not into chrome.

This is true. You get the rear bumper caps color matched on any truck that has BSM. Does the Trail have BSM?

Here's a TRD OR that is closer to OP (Already PMed it to him) https://www.toyotabountiful.com/inv...wd-sr5-crewmax-5-5-bed-5-7l-5tfdy5f19mx987668 and here is the Trail that is further out https://www.rockspringstoyota.com/new/Toyota/2021-Toyota-Tundra-fddd4d2f0a0d0c1467ca5d725efa8717.htm

Things I would consider in his position:

    • The TRD OR is listed at a lower price. Will the other dealer match?
    • The TRD OR gets the LED headlights
    • The Trail gets the parking sensors
    • The Trail has color match nearly complete
    • The Trail looks like it has a spray in bed liner
    • TRD OR has the dual climate.
    • Trail has the old school temp control.

With all these factors, if the Trail will come down in price to where the TRD OR is at, I'd buy it first. It's much easier to add the LED headlights than the bumper sensors, and not a lot more expensive than the spray in bedliner or color matching would be. I prefer the old school temp controls, too. All personal preference of course.

Edit: The Trail has a normal key and the TRD has the push button start. I think the Trail is WAY overpriced. They'd have to beat the TRD OR for me to get it, even though it has some features I would prefer.

Thanks @AzureNightmare and everyone this is super helpful. I was actually originally working with Bountiful Toyota in Nov but they jerked me around on price and I walked away. I even test drove a Trail Edition they had but it was bare bones. It was tough to not have keyless entry and no parking sensors after having it on my '18 Tacoma.

I called and emailed the guys at Rock Springs and they said they have a ton of inquiries on both trucks and wont budge off of list price. I'll see if they come back and want to make a deal and will keep you guys posted. Here is my trucks specs as well for comparison

Well, if the truck coming is optioned how you want, I'd just raise hell that they haven't done a loaner and tied up your funds. This might be something to "Get Gephardt" on too. Drop that name on them, and they'll be way more accommodating and likely to make it right. Personally, the steps they are offering or the first payment is a bit insulting with the amount of time you've waited.

Now is definitely not the best time to buy a truck. Wait a few years.. Once gas prices go up they won’t be able to give them away.

As far as the keyless entry and push start, my wife has that on her rav... absolutely hate it! So glad I don’t have that garbage on my tundra..parking sensors are junk also. Only thing that doesn’t work properly on my truck. I just keep the switch off.

DO NOT do a Payment Deferral. Even though it does not show on your credit, Toyota however will hold that deferral against you the next time around. I have customers all of the time that try to get approved under certain programs and the deferral they did kept Toyota from approving it. If your credit is great, it wouldn’t hurt you. Next time a different bank would work just as good.
