I have to admit that during this lock-down i have been indulging in adult beverage consumtion more than usual. That being said, could you add keelhauling to the poll? Ive never been able to vote for that on a poll before...Thanks.

I’ll leave that to the much more capable moderators. A I think everything has to have context. But like I tell my crew an excuse is just that, good or bad.

I voted prema , he made a few blanket statements and if you can handle a little criticism than this isn’t the place . Plus i would never speak that way even if I had been here 5 years , he only has 125+ post and he is acting like a child . I’m new and I didn’t come here for that .

Lol. I love how that guy absolutely flipped out like a 5 year old. He makes an account, tries to put down anyone who doesn't have a pro, screams and cusses like a little kid. Obviously he's trying to make up for something

Also the price difference between a pro and a platinum is nothing. I think the sticker on my platinum was more than a pro but IDC. I chose the platinum because it had everything I wanted. I'm never taking this truck on jumps or rock crawling. While I'll never have a "true pro" like big Dave so eloquently put, I'm just happy I have a kick ass Toyota truck thats gonna last me for years and allows me to make it my own through mods. Cheers

Edit: also voted perma. Don't need that negative energy around here. If you can't take a little criticism on an online forum, I'd hate to see what that dude's like in real life.

I got myself perma banned from a forum I was quite enjoying back in the day. I responded poorly to a joke and that was it. Everybody makes mistakes and deserves a second chance.

It doesn’t bother me personally to be called a troll, I just consider the source. On a business side though if you allow a forum to become the Wild West it won’t take long before it will cease to exist because you would loose all credibility and sponsors would follow.

That being said I don’t know Big Dave or his history but I voted 30 day however the mods know what’s best.

I've just never encountered someone on here who is so quick to start spewing profanities and acting so childish. Being drunk isn't an excuse either because I've been hammered on here and never got angry like that. Dude's got issues and we don't need that kinda bullsh*t in here.

    Back to the original post....
So if I had an SR5 with Bilstein's. What would I have to change to approximate the PRO. Fox shocks vs Bilstein's I assume. Springs? Stiffer or softer?
We can discuss high level and omit details as I have no intention of doing it. Now talk old C3 Corvettes.....I can help you pull 1 G

Yes the only real performance difference between the 2 are the shocks, which is why I feel that Toyota is really giving the tundra the short end of the stick compared to the tacoma. At least they make noticeable improvements to the tacoma trd pro. Crawl control, rear locker, front, side and 360 cameras. Those are the types of things that really make the tacoma pros standout and I'm honestly not sure why they don't include these with the tundra, given the popularity of the trd pro trim on the tundras. You would think that if you're offroading or trailing with the tundra, the cameras would be even more important than with the tacoma because of the size difference. I just feel like Toyota really just half-asses the tundra in this trim because they know people are gonna buy it regardless because of the exclusivity.

That's it? Replace the shocks? You would think the springs would be different and the amount of suspension travel. So if I took my SR5 and put shocks in it, you would have a PRO suspension?

Well they are the fox shocks and the trd ones are extremely expensive.
    Here's a link to them.

I’m really surprised they didn’t go with bilstein remote reservoir shocks , just because they have used there shocks for years . I do get that Fox shocks are probably better but I’m just surprised . I wonder who went to who ? Do you think fox went to Toyota or did Toyota go to fox ?

The fox shocks are remote resi front and back. Fox shocks are definitely higher quality than Bilstein imo. I'm sure Toyota went to them and had full control on the tuning of the shocks. They wouldn't let fox out whatever they thought was best on there. The japanese dont f*ck around when it comes to their quality. We work with them on some jobs at my company. They are so overly analytical about every single aspect of a project right down to the nuts and bolts, but it shows in their craftsmanship and pride of work

I just figured they would get bilstein to make them something since they been in bed together for years ! It’s not like bilstein is a cut rate suspension company .

We have the 2015 TRD Pro 4Runner with the crawl control and all of that. I think I turned it on once on accident. We bought it because my wife liked the way it looked and I didn't want a Highlander.
I'm on my 2nd Pro and, honestly, if you can wrench and make a Faux Pro, then I think that's great. I know what I can do and, more importantly, I know what I can't. I love the ride of Pro, I giggle like a little girl every time I goose the gas and it let's out a roar. I love the look. I love that it's a Tundra and I can probably go anywhere I want in it without really worrying about it breaking down.

I do agree that it's weird that the Pro line doesn't have all of the same features. However, I don't think I could afford a Pro Tundra if it had all of the features that the Tacoma Pro has. We'd probably be in Raptor price territory. I could have bought a Tacoma Pro for the features but I'm more than happy sacrificing the crawl control for the size of the Tundra.

Honestly, I don't think you can really go wrong with whatever Tundra you end up choosing.

I went though and got the price differences between the Tacoma and tundra. SR, SR5 and TRD pro. Realistically the tundra TRD pro is underpriced when you compare the price differences of the other trim levels. It "should" be about 3k more, which I think is plenty enough to add the features that it is missing compared to the Tacoma TRD pro. 3k isn't gonna sway many people not to buy it when you're getting those extra features. I mean you're already spending 55k. If you buy that and can't stomach 58k you're probably stretching you're wallet too much already. I would love it if my platinum had front and 360 cameras at least.

I would never pay over MSRP. They're probably only over MSRP at dealerships that barely get any all year and when they first come out with a new model year. I bet you can get a pro right now for 2-3k under MSRP. The dealership had one when I bought my platinum in october and it was listed right at MSRP

    Nada yet.
If I am not mistaken, in the Tacoma TRD OR vs all other trims, the OR has a different brake booster and other components due specifically to Crawl control. Maybe Toyota didnt want to invest development to change the Braking system on the Tundra in this gen?

I didn't see any priced in that link. Good info though, I am interested in getting the TRD Pro's 2020 Fox suspension for my 2020 Platinum.

I had read that the Pro was leveled or 2" taller in the front.

I am curious if adding the front and rear Fox shocks will also level it or do you have to change the springs or add some sort of Toyota spring spacer
as well. Or is the Pro running different springs as well.

Basically I am looking to find out what it would take to duplicate the latest Pro's smooth ride onto my 2020 Platinum.
