So is it a safe assumption that when I get ready to order, I'll be able to order from Toyota, a Platinum with no AVS/heads up display, but including the installation of the TRD leveling kit? Or do I have to buy a compatible truck that can take the TRD leveling kit, and purchase/have the TRD leveling kit installed separately from the initial truck purchase?

SR5 got mine done today and could not be happier. Also that sway bar is supposed to go under the skid plate. At least that is how they did mine.

Pretty sure he meant a pic how the sway bar was installed. I'm guessing they left out the sway bar spacers.

…also what’s your wheel tire combo size’s and offset?

I noticed you still have your front mud-flaps so was / is there any rubbing pre and post lift?

I went with the Yokohama Geolander M/T g003 285/70/18 Wheels are Black Rhino Abrahams with a 12 offset. Rubbing before yes, rubbing now no. Rubbing was not bad and would have stopped once the tires wore down a little bit.

I have the G003's on my 4Runner and have been super impressed with how well mannered they are on the street. No louder than my KO2's on my truck and GX.

Yeah, this is a completely different skid plate but interesting either way.

Looking at the photo it does not look like the spacer included with the kit was used at all. It looks like it’s position the same way as the stock one.

Yes sir, if you don’t mind. I went back and complained to dealer shortly after and was told it was installed per instructions which looks right. I just found it weird it would not work with an OEM plate.

This dealership 100% did their own thing with this sway bar. It doesn't look like they used the block drop brackets from the kit and instead went with smaller shim/brackets similar to what Icon/Fox/King does.

On a side note: After talking with @romanlegion and directly with Icon...I'm planning on shimming my TRD skid plate in the same fashion as this to retain the sway bar protection.

Icon's tech team said their sway bar bracket drops it by .75" and thus would require the TRD skid plate to be shimmed by the same amount to prevent clearance issues.

To be honest I bought that mechanic lunch and asked him to be super careful with my truck. Plus its their first lift at this dealership and they used mine to take pictures with so I expect that this is not the norm.

There's a reason the aftermarket uses full plate brackets instead of just washers. It's spreads the lateral forces out across a wider area. Structurally...washers aren't the soundest option, but I'm sure it'll work ok for most applications.

Oh no. Hope they gave you a discount on parts for not installing those Trd spacers.

The ride is stiffer all around on the road which is good for me. The shocks are said to be valved for off-road bump performance. I find the rear stiff but give they used a spacer to and original springs that is probably why. If payload or squat when towing is an issue I will probably just replace the rear springs altogether and/or add air bags in the future but for now, I see no need. For how I’m currently using my truck I’m fine. I drive in snow and travel forest roads, no heavy overland stuff or payload or serious towing. Just an Rpod and a snowmobile trailer. ymmv.

Just ordered this today. $2,500 shipped. Dealership is charging $900 - $1,100 for install. We’ll see how it goes! I am excited to also see the ability to add the MTS to the platinum (on another thread). It probably doesn’t make a huge difference, but I thought it was dumb you couldn’t get the TRD off-road package with a platinum trim.
