What about the trd Sport makes it incompatible with the trd lift kit, at least according to Toyota?
Is it safety sense issues cause it is lowered and therefore the system is calibrated for a lower truck? I doubt any parts like control arms are limiting factors.

The notes under the part number say TRD Sport if equipped with 2wd, 8.1ft bed, airbags, or AVS.

That makes majority of TRD Sports compatible.

That doesn't make sense to me... I think they forgot a comma. There is no TRD sport with AVS or air suspension etc.

That is a possibility for sure, but I can't see why TRD sport wouldn't work with this lift kit. It replaces all the components that are different on a TRD Sport from non-sport or from OR models anyway.

Okay, so that’s what I understood from the press release. NOT compatible with TRD sport.
It’s confusing why this would be the case. All I can think of is because of safety sense. The actual suspension components should not impact the ability to install the lift.

Not that a local dealer would know either, but have you called & spoken to your local parts/service department? Might be worth seeing how they interpret things or how the model compatibility & conflicts are listed in the Toyota parts system. Might be worth it because if they say it'll work and then find out that it wont, at least you'll have them to fall back on to eat the cost?

Let me preface the following with: I'm not trying to flame anyone and I'm genuinely asking for my own edification:

If you wanted to install a true suspension lift like the TRD Lift Kit, why did you purchase the TRD Sport model? Even if you invest a ton of money in the suspension, it lacks the off road technology (MTS, Crawl Control, rear locker, etc) that the TRD OR & Pro models have. I've always considered the TRD Sport models to be more for street/speed enthusiasts and the TRD OR models to be more focused on off roading. In the end, you spend your money how you want and I encouraged it but the TRD Lift Kit just seems out of place on the sport model to me. :notsure:

Sports definitely look better than all of the other models due to the color matching alone, may or may not be a priority for some. Definitely a priority for me. Sport models are definitely marketed to be a street truck though with the lower front suspension.

The only thing I'd want on a TRD OR is the rear locker but I come from a rock crawling background where a "smart" truck isn't the norm and an aftermarket rear locker can be added. Rely heavier on driver skill than a bunch of nanny computers doing the work for you :D To each their own right?

Yeah, I suppose so. I get that people like the paint matched components of the front on the sport model.

However, just to me I guess...if you're willing to spend $4k on a suspension lift, then why not go with a platform that is going to give you max capability? It seems to me that if you can afford that level of money then spending an extra $400-$800 to wrap the chrome mustache is pretty minimal. It'll remain an enigma to me.

I do agree though, make the truck how you want. You own it and gotta be happy with it long term.

Hopefully, someone out there is able to confirm for the OP if the TRD lift will work on the sport models. It seems the press release and the technical docs conflict each other.

I am trying to figure out same question as OP b/c I like all the color matched from factory. I agree, press release conflicts with technical doc. I emailed the contact on the press release for clarification last week. Doubt I'll get a response but I'll post it if I do.

Thanks all. To answer the questions around “why would you lift a sport?”
    1) The sport is the best looking trim in my opinion. Everything is color matched and there is no chrome. The sport premium comes with unique wheels that look great.
    2) The sport premium package was about the most effective way to get both the softex seats and lunar rock. I am very happy.
    2) The truck is still highly capable. It’s basically a non TRD OR trim, so why not do what mods I want? Yes it has bilstein from the factory, but many people with the OR bilsteins take those off too.
    3) I like knowing the ins and outs of my truck. If there is a component that affects what mods can be done to it, I want to know.

Yeah, the Bilsteins are pretty garbage. I can't wait to get my hands on my Icon setup next week. They're better than the OE factory black shocks, but still pretty meh off road. I didn't buy the TRD OR for the Bilsteins. I bought it for the MTS, CRAWL, and the rear locker...which is where the off road of the TRD OR capability really comes in.

I inquired about this to the owner of the Toyota dealer where I bought my sport. He sent me a screenshot where it says it conflicts with avs, air suspension, trd sport, and trd pro. He is checking to see if he can get clarification.

I was about to contact my local dealer for the same clarification........so super eager to hear the results. I to wish I could put a TRD lift on the sport model.

i read somewhere the sports have diff springs in front, sports have a single spring rate, vs the non sport ones are dual spring rate, supposedly all the suspension in back is identical (except for the electrical gizmos from OR)

works with trd sports 4x4 but not 2wd, but this was just some random posting, still not exactly sure and paying $2600-4k for the TRD lift kit will be a expensive lesson on bad Toyota marketing....

I can just see random yota dealers reading the bulletin and just saying yea we aint installing that on your sport, it says right here it does not work and conflicts with all these other models/trims

I think few of the suspension links and arms may be specific to Sport, making it incompatible.

Sport is a lowered version of normal Tundra, so we could expect some major differences in links and even front axle.

The Pro Fox coilovers are definitely not compatible with the lift.

Would sure like to see them! As much as I like the idea of the ttrf lift kit, I just might go with RC 3.5 lift....

Wanted to see if someone could help me with this statement from Toyota about the new 3" TRD Pro New Lift kit. It says it is the TRD Pro lift lit, but in the comments, is says "The kit is not compatible with the TRD Pro". Not sure I understand this statement It is the TRD pro lift kit but can't be used on the TRD Pro? To confirm I am talking about the Toyota Part # PTCCY-34000

I am looking at Purchasing the 2023 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX TRD Pro 4WD.
I just need to know if this lift kit will work on this New Tundra, and if buying the lift kit from Toyota, I assume they will usually put it on or contract someone to do it, as it states will not void the warranty? I know the truck already comes I think with a 2" lift, but want it too go a litter higher with this lift kit as I assume this is what it would do?

Any help or feedback is appreciated and Thank You.

Did anyone get confirmation of whether or not the TRD lift kit fits TRD sports? I want to install one on my lunar rock trd sport, but would like the peace of mind knowing it definitely WILL fit!

    Thanks guys!

    Lots of stuff!
Perhaps you could try a TRD Offroad take pff set from someone who is upgrading to a 3" kit. At least you would know if the parts fit. Then it would be a logical step to go to the 3" lift down the road.

I’m curious why Toyota says what makes it not compatible with TRD sport. I’ve definitely seen it installed on TRD sport package already. In person and on Facebook.

Review the posts earlier then these 2, this has been asked and the answer is yes, but I stated you would more then likely be arguing with the dealer/shop who is installing it, the install instructions are very badly worded and can be interpreted in both yes and no for sports with TRD lift
