You should of read the article. It is based upon sales data.

I read it. It based it on a previous 10 year snapshot. Then says these models “most likely” will make it.

How else would you evaluate it?

If one company makes vehicles that others will purchase with high mileage for over a decade, chances are very good they have the corporate culture, engineering, product partners and quality assurance to continue versus a company that has made very few vehicles that people will purchase with high mileage. This doesn't even take into account prices paid.

I bought a Toyota based upon their history of reliability and resale value shows most people desire them used. Ram or any Stellantis product with high mileage, not so much.

Could Toyota begin failing...yes. Can Stellantis shock the world and make vehicles that last? Could happen.

I'll buy a Ram with high mileage when that snapshot of the next 10 years dramatically increases the percentage.

It’s just not accurate for new models. But, as you’ve said, if purchasing used model in these year frames then it makes sense to use this data.

    Good luck on your Laramie.

I just traded a 21 Laramie for a 24 Limited. I didn’t have much luck with the Laramie. This is my first Toyota. Hoping for some durability.

My daily driver to work is a Ram EcoDiesel. My Tundra is my weekend/play/hardware store/utility truck. So good choice.

The really sad part is I can't trust Toyota any more. I started my Toyota user experience with a 1972 FJ 40 Landcruiser. It was a beast. So much so that when I decided to buy a new Jeep (1981 CJ), I test drove it and decided to buy a used 1979 FJ 40. Still own it. I later got a 2006 Sienna (developed a family and kids) that I needed. It served me well, but in 2011, I found a used 2008 FJCruiser. It was a Trail Teams and I loved it. I eventually traded it for a 2018 Tundra TRD Sport. It was the bomb. I loved it. I needed it for my move from CA to NM in 2020. In 2021, I got brain stupid and traded it for a 21 Tacoma TRD Pro. In between all of this I have also owned a 2016 4Runner SR-5 for the wife. And in 2018 she wanted to get rid of the 4Runner and traded it in for a loaded 2019 Camry. She drove that for a while and in 2020 she also changed back to a 2019 4Runner Limited.

What it comes down to is we were both Toyota people. In 2021 later that year (after driving my Tacoma back and forth from NM to CA about 8 round trips, I decided that the Tacoma was tearing up my back. I tried a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. I was impressed. It was a whole lot better on long drives than the Taco. I traded the Tacoma for a 21 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I never thought I would even consider owning a Jeep first, then a Mopar second. Maybe when those clowns buy their trash back, I will consider a RAM, however the wife has said she wouldn't drive it....

I know one thing for sure, the Jeep gets into and out of a lot more places (stock) than I would ever take that Taco. I have even driven in the New Mexico Chili Challenge (https://chilechallenge.org/) with that Jeep. And this year I am Tail Gunner for 3 runs in a few weeks as the Challenge 24 run is about to happen.

I traded one of my other cars for a 2024 Tundra TRD Off Road. It is a great vehicle with only one exception: A factory failure in the fuel system that the dealer (Viva Toyota) wrongly attributed to bad fuel cost me $13,000 to fix. Fuel sample from the insurance company proved it was not bad fuel, but that report fell on deaf ears at both the dealer and corporate. That vehicle only had 314 miles on it. Another long story. Since then I have dragged the dealer into litigation. Once that is finished and they buy their junk back. I don't think I will ever buy another Toyota (for sure not from that dealer; again Viva Toyota of Las Cruces).

I just hope Toyota gets their shit together before they nosedive down the quality hole....

P.S. When Toyota sells you a vehicle; get a receipt for that free fill up to cover your ass in the future....
