I almost brought a 2014 (new) Sequoia til I rented one and realized I needed an in-route refueling capability that doesn’t exist...hope yours has the 35gal tank. It isn’t the price of gas, rather its having to stop every 250-275 miles to fill it up. Had the range of a Tesla.

Not a fan of lifts because of all the other shit that comes with it...rack failures, handling is worse, brakes wear out faster, seems they get noisy over time, the hit on resale value, etc...yep they look cool and every contractor has one, but no thanks!

Maybe a nice set of +20 offset / 20” Fuel or Method wheels and some BFGs but that is it...keep it subtle.

The stock look is growing on me now but will make a note of the +offset. I will have two dogs and a full family so stopping for gas is never an issue. Lol. but agree the tundra size tank will be missed.

    Agree on the fam-stop requirements.

The +20 puts the tire about 10mm outside the fender...just a smidge...not too bad when it comes to slinging shit all down the sides...my neighbor has Fuel Vapors at +20 ona black Tundra with BFGs...they look good and dont make too much of a mess. For reference, stock offset is +60 for Tundras.

I continue to consider getting some new wheels but haven’t...I take it in for an alignment and oil change tomorrow and if they say I need tires, that might push me over the edge for wheels too;)

Congrats! I imagine with the IRS it rides considerably better than a Tundra on rough pavement.

That is an awesome truck/SUV! I love those. All that family room, short wheel base, great trip vehicle. I think the TRD Sequoias have electric lockers out back too (correct me if I am wrong).

    Very nice!!

Thank you! I was definitely torn and thought I would miss the Tundra but every time I drive the sequoia I love it more. I thought they would be more similar since it shares a lot but its really crazy how much smoother the steering, shifting, and bumps are. It does have a button to lock the rear instead of auto LSD. Can’t wait to use it when we go in the mountains here in Colorado.

I also do a lot of home repairs and love the back window roll down feature like the tundra. Makes for easy hauling of long wood or material.

We are on our 3rd (2008, 2012, 2016) Platinum Sequoia and are happy. We don’t drive it much anymore but for a rare family (kids mostly grown and driving their own vehicles) or big grocery or shopping trip. Fuel tank size does suck though. Lol. You’ll enjoy the ride.

I’m about a month into my ‘19 Limited. Really liking the power and handling compared to my ‘12 Yukon XL. Congrats on the new ride! Almost went the TRD route myself.

Are the seats the same as the tundra?

I’m gearing up for another 4Runner, but I am considering a Sequoia trd pro.

I came from a SR5 and installed leather so I am not for sure. The TRD Pro sequoia has red stitching and logos with more adjustments than my tundra had and they sit up higher. They are more comfortable overall IMO. In the Tundra I always felt the seat needed to be lifted up in the front.

    Your Sequoia looks pretty sweet.
I've tossed the thought of one back and forth over last few years.

I mean, how often to I use my bed in my 2014 DC?
    Not very..
I'd get more use out of the SUV cargo area and give the dogs more rides around the block for sure..

But the only way I could do a Sequoia is the TRD Pro or the Nightshade Edition.
That $65k price tag is too hard to swallow...

Is decontamination a sort of paint prep for the ceramic coating?

I know a good detail shop will prep paint before applying wax by buffing with a "cutter"; a liquid wax/rubbing compound solution to get rid of any surface oxidation. Maybe it s the same concept.

Why is it that Toyota puts lockers in the sequoia but not the Tundra?

the gas tank size is why I went tundra, we got the 6 seat tundra with 26 gal tank, replaced with the aftermarket 46 gal tank... IF I can do that to a sequoia, I would go get one now...

I was thinking the same thing. If they update it , like the new Tundra is supposed to be, it should look awesome and be a helluva ride.

Thanks everyone! I just installed the footwell VLED LED light kits in the front and rear seats and added the puddle lights to the mirrors which turned out great. Lights up the garage like a stadium now lol.

Definitely strange. I bet Toyota will put lockers in the 2022 next gen Tundra with all these new 1/2 ton Trucks, competition heating up!

Is the MPG about the same as your 2019 Tundra?

I have only went thru one tank of gas and I think it’s pretty close to the same. My sequoia said on the infotainment menu 16.2mpg and my tundra always hovered around 15 but I need to put more miles on it. Will likely drop lower since that was a highway trip doing 72mph for most of the time.
