Nannies are the auto LSD, VSC, and traction control. Turn them all off so your truck doesn't limit your acceleration. Do that by pressing traction control button (car with squiggly lines button) once. Auto LSD will light on dash. Then press again and hold for 3 seconds and another light comes on. (Can't remember if it's VSC light). Then press and hold for 3 seconds again. Traction control off will flash on dash. Now all nannies are off. Now all you need to do is turn on tow/haul ass button and you're set. Very easy to burn rubber now.

All the safety electronic crap the government mandates must be in the vehicle to keep you safe. AKA traction control.

You can do the first stage while driving, not that it changes anything IMO. The other two, you have to be completely stopped. As towhaul can be turned on/off on the fly

The other thing that adds to this is put it in sequential mode in 3 or 4.

Wonder if anyone here has developed a way to short circuit the "nanny" controls and have the truck start up with all traction controls off as default?

Nannies off- out ice fishing with a couple buddies last winter me in the tundra when they were in their 3/4 ton GMC's getting stuck all the time as I roll right past them through the deep snow and drifts even gave in and pulled them out... just told them it was the tundra should of got one;). then explained to them about the nannies off. they did the same in their GMC's but still did better in the Tundra!

I've seen a mod where you press the button once and it would go through the entire cycle and turn everything off. The guy who did it pretty much always turned nannies off as soon as he got in his truck and was sick of going through the cycle.

I'm guessing Toyota could modify in the programming to have the truck start with all traction control items off. Unless it's a safety thing where they can't due to liability.
@LOTSOFTOYS or @thefatkid is this something you could do?

Would be great if we could get a bypass or something on having the nannies already done when I get in. 1..2..3.. release 1..2..3.. go. 5 miles later turn off truck, repeat

Is it just me or does it seem like a totally different truck when you do this? I just tried it out on a back road and it just felt like it drove loose as hell. Got to an intersection on the back road I was trying my new lights on, and turned off beast mode.

Don't get me wrong, it was a huge improvement in acceleration and fun, but the deer are starting to come out a little more and I had to chicken out until I drive it in beast mode a little more.

this is what i have found when i have all nannies off and in tow/haul mode. when i get stuck in traffic say going about 30 mph for lets say 10-15 miles, and then get on the highway doing 70 mph, the trucks tranny seams to be stuck in 3rd or 4th gear, tac is about 3-3500 rpm. to get the tranny and rpm to normal i quickly shift to sport mode and back to d mode. is this normal?

    Not nearly enough room here!
I'm never in "D" and am probably one of few (from what I read here:devil:).If you're in S mode and your truck doesn't respond when you bump the shifter up or down, something isn't right.(Unless you're going too fast for a lower gear)Remember, when in D and driving along at speed, moving shifter into S mode puts you into 4th gear. This may've changed over the years,my truck is a 2010:notsure:.

I do know there is one wire, going thru your firewall that if cut will turn off the VSC and your truck will become a beast. My previous tundra had a wire chewed in half by a mouse and it just happened to be that one magic wire, it was a fun few days till I could get to the dealer to have it looked at, that's when they found the wire...

shifting up or down in sport mode is not a problem, just when in drive mode with all nannies off in stop and go traffic and when i get up to highway speed 65-75 mph,the tranny seams to locked in 3rd or 4th gear and will stay there until i shift to sport mode and then back to drive, then tranny unlocks and rpms are back to normal and in 5th or 6th gear.

It was like ( what the hell is in that Tundra!)man it actually got a little squirrely on me. felt 16 again for about 15 seconds. Thanks joonbug!
