hopefully you're at least at the end of the road with this one. Best of luck.

    You'll need
    A) the correct sensor for the 2018+
    B) techstream (or Toyota dealer) to program the new sensors.

Sounds like you're close to figuring it out...

I am currently having the same issue. Got new tires and wheels put on my 2020. They put in their own sensors and said they cloned my OEM ones. My TPMS light came on on my drive home from the shop. I pull over and call the guy and he said its because my stock tires were in the bed of the truck so it's reading 8 different TPMS sensors. I get home and take the tires out and try to recalibrate. No luck. Just went for a drive 30 mins plus and its still saying its recalibrating. Might go for a longer drive with it today where my speeds can get a little higher than just driving around town to see if that helps.

The tire shop said if it didn't work to bring it back. But dang thats an hour drive.

My 2018 only allows for programming 4 sensors on my copy of tech stream. I'm not sure how the tires in the bed would cause an issue for you...

    Trying not to mod it
Because they cloned them rather than programming new ones. That would confuse the system because there would be duplicates of every sensor from the system's perspective. 2 of each serial number that it was supposed to read.

Having the same issue on my 2020 TRD Sport. Installed aftermarket sensors and had them ‘cloned’ to the originals but having trouble ‘registering’ them in the truck computer. Drove around for 30 min and have the same message on my screen as Walkem above. Anyone got this figured out for 2020 models?

Went thru this with Discount. They put in UV3040 and 18+ needs programmable UV3041. If correct sensors are put in, light disappears immediately after they program. They can tell you which stores have them in stock if they don’t have any.

I had to buy all new sensors. Prior to that I took my truck to the dealer for the to do their thing and still nothing. Went to discount tire and it took them 2 tries but I finally have sensors that work.

I took it back to the tire shop yesterday and they tried plugging in the OBD reader specialized for TPMS and still couldn't get the truck to recognize the new sensors. They suggested taking it to Toyota to get their technicians to do it...which may result in Toyota forcing me to get OEM genuine sensors...we'll see.

My tire shop broke a stem and couldn’t recalibrate on the newer Toyota models. They wrote me a check for $110 after I got it all sorted at the dealer.

So recalibration is about $100. New sensor is about $80 iirc.good luck this ended up being a very frustrating process for me.

    Looking for Confirmation.

    I have a 2020 with steel wheels.
    Purchasing 2017 TRD Wheels.

If I buy this TPMS Sensor UVS3041 https://www.amazon.com/North-America-UVS3041-Pressure-Monitoring/dp/B07JH6Q441

Take it to discount tire, then maybe, probably?, they can install it and program it?

Would they be programming in the new codes or do they change the code on the sensor to match what my steel wheel sensors are set to.

FBing..... I'm in the same situation.
Getting a set of winter tires and rims for my 20 Limited with push button start.

I know they are twice the cost of the sensors you posted, but i'm going with the factory Toyota ones.

From what others posted on here, they kind'a like the sure bet the light won't come on.
i don't want to mount and balance the tires and then not have the truck read the sensors and still have the light on.

Search in this forum for other topics on TPS.

    Here you..

Called the dealer -- How much to move my tires and program new sensors $340
    - this is with my providing the OE Toyota sensors $240
    Total: $580

Discount tire -- How much to move my tires and program new sensors $150
    - this is with me providing the UVS3041 sensors $120
    Total: $270

I'm going with option #2 as reading above, I'm confident that they should be able to clone the existing sensors onto the UVS3041 for my 2020 non push start.

I just started having the same issue with a new set of wheels tires. I drove the truck for about 3 days. all of a sudden, TPMS malfunction msg, then recalibrating msg. I'm taking it back to the shop. They said they'd just need to reflash them so they can sync.

The plan came together perfectly. Bought 2017 TRD Wheels (Silver / Black) for $200. Emailed Discount Tire via their price match service to ask them to price match Amazon on the HUF UVS3041 Sensor at $27 (they sell it for $60), they responded asap with OKAY. Ordered TRD center caps for $72 (the wheels had the standard toyota cap and were missing one). Discount Tire charged $100 for move the tires from my steel wheels and install the UVS3041 sensors. I overlooked the fact that I needed new lug nuts for the TRD wheels. Discount Tire had 20 that they said were ordered for a Lexus and ended up unused. $7 a lug but gave them to me for $90 for all. I asked them to clone my existing TPMS instead of trying to get the truck to attach to new IDs. Drove home and have the correct pressure showing for every wheel. The old sensors were in a plastic bag so they weren't reporting any pressure.

    Wheels $200
    Lugs $90
    Sensors $108
    Labor $100
    Center Caps $72
    ----
    $570

Yeah, I'm cheap and try to save money every where.

UPDATE: Took my truck back to the shop. They checked the tire pressure, checked the sensors and they were reading ok, just not communicating with the tpms system. They tried resetting it, drove it, and still were unable to suppress the TPMS messages. The tech basically came back and apologized and said i'd have to take it to a dealership to have it reset from their system. I leave, mostly disappointed, not even angry. Not even half a mile down the road. TPMS light and warning messages go away and tire pressures re-appear on the little screen. So far so good. Not sure exactly what they did, but it eventually worked!

    Worked!

My light randomly came on yesterday in my 2019. No work done recently, not drastic weather changes or damage etc.

I actually did it over the course of 2 days as it didn't recalibrate the first 20minute drive. I came home, killed the battery for 30 seconds to see if that would work, it didn't. Turned car on and it still said "recalibrating".

Drove 2 minutes on day 2 and it recognized all sensors. I have a 5th in my full sized spare too. All Toyota OEM sensors on aftermarket wheels.

When you got back in the next day did you have to hit the TPMS button again at all, or just get in and drive? I'm having this same thing happen.

On Day 2, I just got in and drove and it corrected itself. It's been fine ever since.

No buttons pressed, no resetting anything.

Hey all not sure if this is still active but on my 21 Tundra having the same issue. Looking for help. So I had after market wheels out on with my stock tires no problem. Then for new tires last Friday and TPMS didn’t work. Then took it back Monday to discount and they “fixed” it and not doing it. When I turn the truck on it blinks multiple times then stays on and that screen says recalculating please wait. I tried putting my key to on push the button 3x and held it down nothing. Then turned on the truck it blinked drove it 20 min and nothing still

The TPMS can be a royal pita. I have had this issue as well. The manual is useless. Try this and see what happens. Turn the key on but do not start the truck. Push the button 3 times and the light will flash for about a minute or so. It should say racalibrating.....please wait. Oce the light is soiid, turn the key off. Start the truck and let it idle for about 5 minutes. Do not do anything with the button. After sitting at idle for 5 minutes, drive it for a little while and see if the pressures start showing up.
