    Hi,

Starting to troubleshoot my TPMS light on a 2013 Tundra and will document it here because it seems like the only thread out there for 2nd gen is really old. But I will link to that below.

When I bought the truck not long ago it had stock wheels and the TPMS light was on.
When the truck was started, it would flash for a minute or so then go solid.
I tried the reset procedure in the user manual and it did not solve it.

Then I bought all new wheels and tires and TPMS sensors from Tire Rack.
Same issue, when truck is started, flashes for a minute or so, then goes solid.

Sometimes, when I'm driving, I have noticed that the light will go out. At at least one time, I took the opportunity to hold the reset button and it did do the expected 3 blinks then off thing or whatever the manual says. I'm not sure I waited 7 minutes after that like some people say. I think the manual says "several minutes" or something like that.

Then later I asked what people think the pressure should be in my new non stock size tires.
And I set the fronts at 42psi and the rears at 40psi.

I think after that, at some point, the light went out and I did the reset procedure and it responded as expected.

But then later the light came back on, when truck started, blinking for a minute or so, then solid the whole drive.

So then I decided to put the recommended pressure in that is listed inside the door jam. Something like 30 and 33.

Then drove for several trips, same behavior, blinks for a minute, then solid the whole drive.

Today I found the light was off, so ran the reset, and it responded, and the light went out.
I think I drove 2 more trips today and the light is still off.
I did not wait several minutes like I was supposed to, forgot about that. But it's still off.
Pressures are as stated on door jam 30 and 33.

I'm going to drive like this until I see if it comes back on.

If it does, I may replace the antenna because that solved it for the other guy in the other thread here:

Please share your success stories if you have them.

    Thanks!

I little while ago I put the non-stock tires back to: fronts at 42psi and the rears at 40psi.

I've been driving the truck and still getting the TPMS light on most of the time. When started, it blinks for a minute then goes solid.

And there have been multiple drives where the light does NOT come on at all.

So I'm wondering why that would be.

I have not been to the shop, because I didn't have any other reason to take it, and I figured I'd drive for a while and just observe some more, and hope that it clears up. It has not. Still sometimes on, sometimes off.

Question: Does this TPMS module expect readings from 4 wheels or 5? Is there usually a sensor in the spare for 2nd gen? Mine is 2013.

I just watched another video where the guy fixed his by replacing the receiver, or antenna, in the back of the headliner, and that fixed it for him.

I looked up the part new OEM and it was $585. One comment on the video said someone got one at the salvage yard for $65.

But in that video, he says, before replacing the receiver/antenna, to verify that the sensors are transmitting, and that the codes match the codes that the TPMS module is expecting. If you have original sensors, and the truck is old, the batteries may be dead. So then get the sensors replaced, have them programmed properly and if that doesn't work, then consider the receiver.

Some have had success disabling the light by splicing two wires together at the TPMS module.

This will, of course turn the light off regardless of the status of your tire pressure. So you will never have any warning of low pressure in your tires. But the light will go away.

Note: There are many who report this worked for them on their 2nd gen Tundra of different years. But there are 2 reports of it messing with the 4wd and one report of it messing with the cruise control. Some say they spliced the wrong wires.
