Yes Toyota has thin paint. Had a complete clay bar done and XPEL installed on my Tundra when I bought it new in 2014, never looked back. IF or WHEN I ever buy another Tundra I will have expel installed as soon as I take delivery.

    http://www.xpel.com

Everything you see in this photo has expel paint protection (entire hood, pillars, headlights, bumper, mirrors, fenders) except the grill and the roof. 51k on it as of today, no chips, no runs, no errors.

I hate owning a black tundra. The single stage paint is so dang thing that it'll scratch just looking at it. I've done 2 full paint corrections in the 3 years I've owned it and it looks bad after about a summer of washing. Washing technique includes pressure washer rinse to remove all contaminants, merino wool wash mitt (use 3 per wash), 2 bucket wash method with grit guards in both, waffleweave drying towels with detail spray and I STILL can't keep scratches out of it. I'm seriously considering having the entire truck wrapped in xpel ultimate and be done with it. I can't stand the amount of maintenance just to keep the paint looking decent. /endrant

It does look good when it's clean tho. :p
