Ok i have a question are nitto g2 really that bad in rain. I have 420s and hook really good in rain. I know going from a street tire to all terrain can be different but seriously how bad are they i get mix reviews on them its sucks because those tires look the best at that price point.

I put these tires through some rough weather this weekend. Heavy rain and lots of snow, and I never felt out of control. I'm super impressed with these tires so far!

About 40 per tire for a $300 tire,

If certs included that's a Fantastic Price!
If certs not included, that's a Great Price!

So just a little difference lol

Tires in that size are 322/ea, +80 install and tax. So at 1150, your getting a deal either way!

    6 day review

    Holding balance well,

Little more tire noise than I'm used to...they have quickly increased in road noise over the past 6 days. Hmm.

Hit a little sand, decent 2wd traction so far (nothing serious),

Hooked up the trailer to take the boat for service - sidewalls bulge a little more than my LTs did at the same PSI. Probably going to have to bump up the towing PSI a little.

Hopefully be able to hit water Sunday.

Any feedback on wet pavement/rain experience with them yet? Still weighing my options on replacements for my KO2s, and the wet pavement performance of them is horrible imo.

Interested to see how these compare to Cooper at3 xlt in terms of road noise and on road traction.

Anyone that came from Coopers, let us know your thoughts

Hey guys, former Tundra owner here.

Anyone rocking these tires at 35x12.5 R17? And with the less aggressive sidewall facing out?

    Show me some pics.

See my 5 or so posts on page 7,
35x12.5x17 with the "aggressive" side out.

There are a few pics showing the difference between the less aggressive and even more less aggressive sides.

Been forever since I had my Cooper AT3, but they were much more quiet.

Btw, I'm sure you know, your comparison is not really apples to apples IMO. Yes they are both AT tires... Tire constructions between the two are different. None of the Cooper AT3 variations come in a 3-ply sidewall. Having had the Cooper, I would shop for those as a mostly onroad use with lighter geared offroad use. I'd shop for a 3ply sidewall if my weekends involved more technical trail use.

Being from AZ I dont have much wet traction experience except where my Cooper Maxx "failed" me...boat launch. My old Cooper AT3 performed very well there.

You’re reviews have me on the fence a little again. Which is fine because I appreciate real life, honest reviews. I was originally going with the Cooper AT3 XLT because I really don’t off-road much of at all. But, I do like an aggressive looking tire. I am running the BFG and they need to go. Then I considered the RG because they come in 285-70-18. Now I’m back to possibly considering the Cooper again.
I do tow a boat, camp and do easy trails. I was drawn to the Toyo because they look good and are said to have improved in wet traction. Exactly where the BFG sucks IMO. If you didn’t do much if any off road what would you have suggested?

    What size?
Cooper XLTs do not come in 285/70/18.

FWIW as well, from what I have seen...RG run more true to size. I rolled over my 35 Maxx unmounted, compared to a mounted (on vehicle, loaded) 35 RG....RG significantly larger. So the 285/70/18 RG may actually be pretty close to another mfgs 285/75/18
