I heard a rumor that Toyo will be coming out with a new version of their Open Country AT tires so I called today and yes the release date is March 1st. The lady I spoke with said they had a sales meeting this week and got to look and drive on them. She stated that they will all be the "extreme" version now and that they looked really cool with a completely new design. Looking forward to seeing how they look.

Great, I have had two sets of ATIIs which have been super tires, wear like iron and take very little weight to balance, also made in the US.

Um ... you have 10-day weeks or something?

But re: the tires ... I'd be interested in seeing the new ones once pics/reviews are available ...

Yes, time will tell, but when I decided last week to buy some AT2's, I saw this thread, and damn skippy I did a TON of searching as to when AT3's were actually coming out; I would've waited for those. But I could find nothing regarding AT3's (except Cooper Discoverer AT3 search results). So I pulled the trigger and bought the AT2's, and getting them installed Saturday.

If Toyo comes out with AT3's March 1st, mea culpa...

I love their truck tires. Worked for toyo for a few years and their truck tires and passenger tires i've always thought were the best. However, not a huge fan of their performance car tires.

You should try them on ice or packed snow.:eek2:

I’ve been really happy with the ATIIs, stayed smooth and balanced so well over the life of the tire, but the tread compound does get pretty hard as they mile out.

I currently have a set of the Toyo R/Ts tires on my Rig. I absolutely love these tire and think they are wearing very well and will last to every bit of 50K miles or more.

The new ATIIIs look good too and should be a nice improvement. However, I would suggest looking at the Falken Wild Peak AT3w tires. They can be had for a very good price. I just put a set of them on my wife's Lexus GX, 265.70r17 for only $114.00 each. They are super quite and look a bit more aggressive then the ATIIIs. Just saying...

    Oh, I have LOL

they did do surprisingly acceptable. Granted, it was only a few inches of snow but plenty of ice! slow and smooth was the mantra of the season!

A definite win is the mileage! 60k and counting! Probably has a good 10-15k left in them!

I didn’t think you guys got the white stuff down there...:p:D

Not fully decided yet, but I think I’ll give the ATIII a try. And hopefully this will be the last winter without a set of studded winters to run along side them.
