The 0440C pedal fixed the sensitivity issue. Thanks for the great info fellas.
Before the swap oftentimes it would feel like riding a bull on a bumpy road and othertimes on straightaways what seemed like dead zones in some parts of the pedals travel.
    Thanks again.

My main issue is when I'm at certain intersections, especially one in particular (one way stop on a T-intersection) and I have to get on it to get in front of someone flying over the blind spot to the right. That intersection is super bumpy and gassing it from a stop causes the whole truck to bounce around like you described. Lol. I just ordered the replacement pedal so crossing my fingers that it helps.

Any update on how it worked? I've got several bumper intersections where I feather the gas pretty gently, otherwise I go shooting forward :D

    Pretty things
Kinda sounds like axle hop if it happens over bumpy roads while trying to accelerate hard. Not too sure what you can do about that besides playing with the traction control settings... Maybe tire pressure.

New member here and thanks for the above help about the accelerator pedal.

I installed a new "04000-0440C" and it works perfect now.

No more jerky accelations and much improved over the original (factory) one which was a 78110-0C011.

I also see that 78110-0C012 as a replacement for the 78110-0C0121.

I wonder what is the difference between and 04000-0440C and the 781100C012?

Happy it worked out for you.

I actually listed my old one on here and sold to a 2.5 gen owner. Listed as a "Turbo Accelerator", LOL

Late to this thread, but there's a possibility that the MAF sensor is not working correctly too. I had to replace mine for an unrelated problem. When I did, the touchy gas pedal went away. It's much more manageable now. I only jack rabbit start now when I want to. Might be worth a try.

I’m back in a 2016. I missed gunshot launch effect of my 2012. Can I reverse the fix? Can I put the metal shim in my 2016 for that ultra touchy rodeo experience?

Thanks. I read your thread about it. I’ve always heard mixed reviews from these things but it’s worth a shot I guess! If I wanted to keep things oem, would putting the shim in work?
Also on this topic of the 07-13 vs 14-21 throttle being remapped.. I consistently got 13.1 mpg in my 12 cm platinum and get 14.9 in my 16 dclb trd. Maybe mpg wasn’t the main catalyst for the pedal change, maybe it was just the sensitivity but it definitely helped.

I never used the shim. The HikeIt has several settings to choose from. A shim gives you none but does improve things. Same with the pedal fix too which seems to work well. My 14 definitely needed something. The throttle sensitivity was night and day different than my 07. HikeIt has a quite decent BF sale going on now btw.

I just got a diamond hd, overhaul HD rack, trd pro grille and bulge all within the last few days. THANKS A LOT BLACK FRIDAY DEALS. I’ll check it out. Very tempting but I’m spending way too much on this tundra lol

    Thinking no.
You could replace your accelerator with one from an 07-12. They are direct replacement. Maybe from a junk yard.

Or as mentioned, a throttle controller like Pedal Commander or similar.

Edit: @Kenny Wise guy recently replaced his and may be selling his old one.

I thought about this for the last few months and for sure know it’s a factor after installing the info buttons my truck was never optioned with. Watching real time mileage, it doesn’t matter how much you feather the throttle or even curl toes to modulate the pedal. It’s just way too touchy. It’s very difficult to send minimal throttle input in some driving situations which in turn burns more fuel. I’m getting this pedal soon…
