I have to agree with you. there is something unsettling about the way the X4 'locks' into its channel. A velcro system, while old school, and not pretty is a lot more assuring. I dont like the look of the vinyl covers but it is really hard to justify the price of the X4. Ive had my X4 for about a month, and i rate it a solid "meh.".

For me the Truxedo Pro X15 is a much heavier duty than mast majority of soft Tonneaus and doesn't take up space when rolled up behind the cab. Lifetime replacement guarantee on the cover as well. Obviously not a break-in secure but if they want to get the worst is the cover will be cut as opposed to forced entry.

These reasons plus its more low profile than the Sentry CT when rolled up. I do believe the ProX15 is the way to go. Thanks for your help with this!

The problem i see with the Truxedo Pro X15 is they are woven fabric. Cleaning bird droppings, sap, or other contaminates off fabric is going to be a bear compared to a vinyl cover. Anyone have experience with this?

It's woven but still impermeable, so far for me there hasn't been anything "sticking" it to it that hasn't shedded off easily. It also holds onto any of the higher quality spray on treatments just as good if not better than the "shinier" fabrics.

A little of this and a little of that.
I too had an X2 but it broke so I went with the MX4. I like the MX4 much better than the X2. My .02

Do you have any pictures of this rolled up?
Did you have to move the deck rail down?
How much does it leak and did you add any other seal kits?
    Thanks

Nothing sticks to it, not even bird poop. The weight capacity is 250 lb evenly spread; i.e. snow and such. It's not waterproof but only drips in the corners of the tailgate, no seal kits added. I did not have to move the deck rail system. I LOVE this cover!!!

I got it on eBay for $465 shipped!

Having a hard time deciding on a bed cover. My last truck had the factory Toyota tri-fold hard cover, and I liked it okay. Just not excited about paying $1000 for a friggin bed cover. Seems like the TruXedo Pro15 has caught my eye more than the other soft covers. Only thing about that cover is the VELCRO. You know as well as I do that over time Velcro starts to Give Up. Still not sure which way I will go. As with anything, I try to make good decisions, which produce positive results.

I've been happy with my Truxedo Lo-Pro QT roll-up cover on my crewmax. The lifetime warranty is also an added bonus. I had a Retrax Pro on my old 2002 Access Cab and really liked that cover except for the loss of one foot of bed space.

I can tell you that the Velcro is VERY strong! It's not your normal Velcro. I have opened and closed/taken off my cover over a hundred times. It's still working like new.

I have a BakFlip MX4 and works great for what I use it for and it is a very solid top in my opinion. You can get great discounts through online dealers as I got mine for a mere 725.00. Good luck!

I was recently deciding between the Truxedo Pro15X and the Lomax hard cover. I was about to go with the Pro15 but Autoanything had a flash sale for 23% off and the Lomax hard cover was included and the Truxedo covers were not... so $732 after tax was too good a deal to pass up on the hard cover that was really my first choice from the beginning.
The Lomax is supposed to arrive tomorrow so I'll try and take some pictures during and after install.

Nice cover for sure and good discount. But if you ever want to haul a motorcycle, that cover is in the way correct? The last one third stays put.

Correct. I would imagine you would have to remove the cover if you need full bed access. It looks like a quick and easy process to remove it completely but we will see. For my needs, I don't think I will need full bed access that often (mostly for picking up loads of mulch or top soil) so if I need to take it off every now and then I'm ok with that. I liked the idea of the hard cover in case I want to leave my golf clubs or skis in the back with a little added security.

Hard to decide, there are SO many to choose from. I think the American Tonneau Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover looks the best for me. It looks like a soft cover but it has three hard folding sections. I prefer this over Velcro and rolling the cover. Seems pretty legit to me for $549. But I'm still looking.

That MX4 is virtually the same as the American Tri-Fold, small differences. Like yours, I want one that has HARD panels. Less likely that someone could cut thru it when tailgate is locked up. I still can't decide.

Ive had 2 hard folding covers. If anyone really wanted to they could stick a prybar into it and pop it open. Yes it is more secure than a soft cover, but dont keep anything valuable under it for long

The MX4 is a "hard aluminum cover" all around and can hold 500 lbs on top of the cover evenly distributed. You can't go wrong with this and worth the money in my opinion, it serves my purpose very well and I am very happy with it. You have to decide what will work for you and what falls within your budget, I on the other hand did my research and yes this top was over my budget but after shopping around I got a damn good deal on it.

Like this cover I was going to buy one last year Autoanything had them for 459.00 other things came up and did not get one yet I’m waiting to see if they come back on sell if so I’ll probably get one then, a buddy had one on his Chevy a couple of years ago and said it was nice and never leaked and he never had a problems with it. As for total security I don’t think there’s one on the market that someone can’t get into if they really want. If you get one let us know what kinda deal you find. The Tonnopro and Advantage seem to look like the American with little changes. Good luck on your search.

Omg, now I'm debating between a Tonneau Cover and a Tool Box, don't want both. The Crew Max has zero storage under back seat.
