I dont see any for adults but my friends son had a bad cavity on a molar at age 4 and they gave him a gold tooth. I think they did it because it was the most "natural" replacement. I dont know if they still use amalgam for fillings but I wouldnt want mercury in my kids mouth, even if someone somewhere says its a "safe" level, I rather get a gold tooth until the adult teeth sprout.

Im curious what the price difference was with the gold?

They do. I have 3 of them. Composite is normally offered as the baseline, but you can ask to have gold instead, and pay the difference.

As far as price difference, last time for me (about 3-4 years ago) the normal tooth for my plan was like $200, and a gold tooth was $350. But it was one of my back teeth so it was definitely worth it.

Better choice for the bridge due to rigidity (Think of suspension articulation - except in the mouth it's bad). Gold for a single tooth for the malleability.

one thing that impressed me about the zirconia is you can drive into a 2x4 and it will not deform

    PFM and gold will deform

I did a ton of research and for the practical
And affordability zirconia is the way

gold is a great and comes the closest to wear and sensation of a natural tooth.

alot of people dont like going but my mouth feels like a superstar after I go. Luckily my insurance pays for 4 cleanings a year, including 1 deep cleaning that feels like i chewed on barbed wire for an hour, in a good way.

This thread is good motivation to take care of my teeth. I always floss at night. The thought of having teeth pulled seems horrible.
