The only one I really miss was part of my trade for the Tundra. 2017 Subaru WRX Limited with the 6 speed manual transmisson. After it was snowed in for 6 months I realized it was crazy to make payments on something I couldn't drive. If I ever go back to having two vehicles I want to get something to scratch that sports/muscle car itch.

That was a good looking ride! I have seen a pitch black one around here and it is definitely a fancy ride also with a manual transmission. I hear you about making payments on stuff that you do not drive regularly. I learned about that a long time ago in a similar fashion too.

Oh, I wanted to drive it, but it had 4 foot snow drifts on all sides. Maybe if I get a house built with a garage I will get something similar again. It would beat you to death on anything but a smooth road, but man could it take corners and it was a rocket. :burnrubber:

Pretty impressive stuff here. Your avatar is quite fitting. Is that you behind the wheel in the “78”?

Yep. I spent about 12 years turning money into exhaust and tire smoke. Raced PCA (Porsche Club), SCCA and local stuff. Best fringe benefit was being a track driving instructor for PCA, BMW Car Club, Ferrari club and a few others. Free track time kicks ass!! I really miss it. But I would be totally broke if I stuck with it.

The spec Miata racing was by far the lowest cost AND most fun of any of it.

I'm OCD about vehicles, so even the Miata was basically spotless when I sold it. Which is unheard of in spec Miata. A LOT of rubbing and banging goes on. "Rubbin is racin"

Now we live in a mountain town, and having a nice car is basically futile. So I've been playing with nothing but 4Runners and the Tundra for the last 10+ years. Couldn't be happier. (the WRX was totally at home here, but my wife and daughter sorta trashed it...and the OCD thing kicked in)
