Gas that cost less than a dollar a gallon.

When, in order to be a musician, you actually had to play an instrument.

    Yard darts.

    BB gun wars.

Running through the neighborhood at night, through other people's lawns, playing flashlight tag without getting the cops called on you. because kids running around at night wasn't really a cause for concern.

    Actually remembering phone numbers.

Carrying a day-timer or planner with phone numbers, addresses, and other information.

Got caught once making/setting off little bombs as a kid with my brother and friends (blowing up our GI Joe toys) and instead of going to jail, the cops brought us to our parents and explained the dangers of doing something that stupid. Now? Hello felony.

    Walking. EVERYWHERE.

    Hands Across America.

Watching the Challenger explode live on TV in class. (One of my classmates, her uncle was one of the astronauts on the Challenger. It was terrible.)

I believe 1980 or 81 was the end for gen x. So you are a millenial in denial. Bet you don't remember when bias ply tires were all there was. I remember my dad and his buddies talking about the crazy new radial tires. There was a big debate over whether or not radials were safe. Running around on those half flat things just couldn't be right. I think that was somewhere around 1972.

Remember when minimum wage was $2.65 an hour. That's what it was when I got my first job other than baby sitting and mowing lawns. I was a freshman in high school then. It was ok to baby sit at ten back then. Now you can't leave your kids alone till what, 13?

I just saw an old stout in someone's driveway the other day. We had one in the showroom at burt Toyota when I worked there. Darn thing always stunk like gas!

Ha, beat you to that one last night Russ. But nobody has commented on it. Are we the only ones that had that advanced technology back then. Shh, let's see if the youngsters know what that was!

Lol. I'm a Millennial and almost every single thing listed in this thread is a thing Millennials experienced in their childhoods, considering most of this stuff was around in the 80s and 90s and lasted up till around 2006. o_O VHS? Yes. Rotary phones? Yep. Dial-up Internet? You betcha.

You guys are thinking of Gen Z really, not Millennials.

Welcome Chen  yes they are really referring to kids born post 2000 but it's just a bunch of old farts reminiscing about the old days. So that's why I'll let it slide. For example @COMiamiFan wanna explains what this is to me? 24f72ccb1d7c1c7c73ea1c5847dab3ab_f6f9c05af8f822de41f89b3975d6f47845eb01cf.jpg

A party line was a phone number assigned to a block of houses (back when you had to call an operator to connect you to anyone) that and any one on the block could pick up and listen into the conversation going on.

I just wish music was about talent like it used to be. Auto tune has ruined an entire generation of music.

Looks like the floor of an old 85 4x4 Toyota. Other than the USB in the cig lighter and the stereo, looks like my old truck, in 90.

Actually, I'm thinking this thread got jacked by the millenials! That's why the title got changed to ten year old kids. There is no way that someone that was born in the 90's was around for some of the stuff us old farts have mentioned.
