We may have grown up a little rougher than kids these days but they're actually much more mature and advanced than we were at that age. @Thegr8punkin, Connor at 20 years old is way more mature than I was at his age. Shit, he might be more mature than I am now. o_O

Youve got me by a year and a bit but Im gonna have to say nope on the millennial thing. I was shitting in toilets, talking and watching Heman in the late 80s. Thats gotta count for something.
Actually I have 3 older siblings so everything I knew was through hand me downs.
Worked my ass off for my allowance ($2.50 a week). Ate soap when I swore. Got belted when I fought. Learned to use my imagination and respected my grown ups....mostly.
I do have to say that I remember rules being put in place and changes being made through the actions of mine and my peers. I remember the first time someone took thier belts off during a fight. This began the kids fighting with weapons age (in my school at least).

Born in 82, but didn't think we were anything close to be millennials. I think of millennials as the kids that I teach, those that were born right around the millennium. I thought were were generation x or y, but looking it up it looks like you are right, Gen X goes till the early 80's and then the millennials take over.

"Millennials (also known as Generation Y) are the demographiccohort following Generation X (mostly in western countries). There are no precise dates for when this cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years. Millennials, who are generally the children of baby boomers and older Gen Xers, are sometimes referred to as "Echo Boomers" due to a major surge in birth rates in the 1980s and 1990s."

So if millennials ended in early 2000s then what is next?

I would put the stereotypical millennial starting in the late 80s or early 90s.

    Obviously

"Generation Z (also known as The Founders, Post-Millennials, the iGeneration, Plurals or the Homeland Generation) is the demographic cohort after the Millennials. There are no precise dates for when the Gen Z cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years that range from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, and as of yet there is little consensus about ending birth years."

I like the term iGeneration the best i think.

I personally think the millennials are alright. No better or worse than we were, just different. I know we like to joke about them but if you seriously think they're that bad, that just means you're turning into a grumpy old man. Just like the old timers used to say how horrible we were turning out to be when we were younger. Don't be that grumpy old man.
