Our house started out as6one room cabin. Then a two story addition and pops just keep on adding to it. He was still building at 80! Finally slowed down in his last few years.

A choke on the dashboard. Carburetor. Tune up = cap, points, rotor, condenser, maybe plugs.

    This ^^.

My sister-in-law is a Gen X parent and is raising her kids to be the epitome of what this thread is talking about with Millennials. They live half a mile from me and she wont let her 12 year old son ride his scooter to our house. When I was 12 I rode my bike everywhere. My friends house, movie theatre, skatepark, blockbuster. It is really a shame.

I'm turning 32 in a couple of weeks and just now realized that by definition, I'm a millennial :pout:

I'm giving myself a pass though since I've never been without a job since 14 (Idaho had really lax child labor laws) and have been 100 percent self sufficient since 18.

I remember asking my mom for a penny to buy a balsa glider. It too, was .15 cents and I went for the glider instead of the candy bar.

How many can recognize this? It was a prized tool long ago and pre-dates most of the storage media in the other pictures. That's relevant because it was used on the primary storage media of the time. That isn't a stock photo, the tool is still part of my collection. It lives close to my auto-answer acoustic modem.

Not trying to read all these pages - but did anyone mention the first tv remote controls that actually turned the channel knob of the tv itself.

That shit blew my mind when I was a kid

Yeah but back in the day the remote clicked the channel knob.

That was like a clapper on roids

So I was born in 83, so I'm on the edge of the millennial generation, and yet I grew up with and remember almost everything you guys have posted.... with the exception of not having indoor plumbing.

Not only that, but it was sound driven. When you clicked the button it made a very high pitched sound and the channel advanced. That's why remotes are often referred to as "clickers" today. You could also jingle a ring full of keys and make the channel knob turn. They weren't real picky about the sound, anything close would work.
