Do it! I originally got it to match with my previous vehicle but I honestly think they just look great in general.

Soooo...Since I still bottom out in the rear easier than ideal.....That means I need the 8100 rears right? Right?!

I think progressive leaf springs would make more of an impact. Hope to get some of the icons leaf packs on my truck someday.

I told myself I wouldn't add any lift to the rear but most likely next year I will also end up with the icon leaf springs as thet seem to get decent reviews and also seem pretty fairly priced.

Someone did shackles on my truck before I bought it so I want to go back to the shortest coachbuilder ones + icon leafs.

Sounds like a good plan to me! Do you find yourself hitting the bump stops in the rear a lot as well?

I have a few times but can tell that my ride quality in the back has gotten worse with some flatter than stock leafs

Ahhh. Yeah when I was installing the rear shocks mine were pretty damn flat too. I'll have to hit up Mr. Hotshot off-road next year once winter is over.

Sooo I am really gun shy towards adding bump stops with 5160s. On my second gen I added the Headstrong progressive three-leaf add a leaf and super bumps. It would bottom out so hard it would jar my back and I actually almost lost control and crashed once because of how hard it bottomed out. My dad said it was because of the bump stops and I told him he was crazy. A few weeks of bottoming out constantly and I decided maybe he was right and we removed them. It immediately stopped bottoming out so much so he was right and our best guess was that the shock valving did a lot of work in the last couple inches of travel and the super bumps were tricking it into thinking the bump wasn't so hard because it slowed it down just enough in that crucial last couple inches. I know it's not quite apples to apples being a third gen and no add a leaf plus durobumps instead of superbumps but it still scares me lol.

I wouldn’t have thought of that lol. But it makes sense.

Looks like you’re a little nose high, so I wonder if the angles are just off enough that you’re crashing early in the cycle? Lifting the ass is probably the best route - toss some shackles on and you’re probably good to go. I still think Durobumps are a good idea to go with that though. I’ve been happy with mine since installing.

Yeah, chatting with Mr 20GR8 we came to the conclusion that the rear will have to come up via better leafsprings. Also, funny thing that not many people on here realize, they don't make lift shackles for a Tacoma (just googled it to make sure I wasn't misremembering lol)

Well, the vacay might save you some money. If you can get a sale on them I'd say it's worth a little delayed gratification. Gives you time to really analyze it and see if it's the wise move. Making good decisions will make you happier with the truck and increase how long you will want to keep it. Let's go for long term ownership on this one!
