There is no guarantee with Toyota either. I bought my 2020 Tundra "forever" truck and had to dump it because of unsolvable 4WD vibration issues. I won't go into details here.

I won’t be buying a new Truck for many years. I picked up an 18’ CM Limited CPO in June of last year before things got too crazy. I am good for about the next decade. If anything I might buy an old used 4Runner just too keep miles off my truck - but not until this madness settles down.

So you are buying a used vehicle to keep miles off your used vehicle...

unless you only buy used instead of new.

i know guys at work buy a used more fuel efficient vehicle to drive to work instead of the big truck as a daily driver.

Although on the surface I get it, you really have to do the math on that one to determine if it works for you based on cost of 2nd car, insurance, miles driven, etc.

yeah the guys that do that are usually buying 5-10yr old beaters for driving to work. easier to total a beater on the drive to work during winters up here.

our other female drives her 15yr ford escort instead of her nice new expedition.

Yeah a 4Runner is probably not going fo work with the poor gas mileage and the cost fo purchase.

It’s not really about economics for me but keeping my truck for just towing and keeping it for a long time. I would like to have an old 4 runner for fun, off-roading, camping, etc….
I would also like a SS Camero but that is another story…

I am still waiting for mpg and price of TRD Pro. I drive 30K+ miles a year. If the average mpg is 22 and price is 65-70K, definitely I will drive the 2022.

I think you are going to be a little high on the mpg. 22mpg highway yes but not average.

The 4X4 V6 TT gets 17/22/19 mpg combined. Hybrid has better mpg in city so 22 mpg combined is very reasonable. I guess the TRD Pro will have 22 mpg or better.

From what I know TRD Pro is V6 TT hybrid only option.

The base TRD Pro probably will be below 70K. The full options will be higher.

I didn't think there were many options on the Pro. Or no packages, anyway, is what I heard.

The hybrid won't be a base Pro (if there is such a thing as a base Pro). My point is your not going to get a TRD Pro hybrid for under $70k but it might achieve 22mpg combine. If you get a non hybrid TRD Pro for under $70K your not going to see 22mpg combined.

Dealer always add options to make more money. You will see they add on the stuffs that you do not like and chagre you for that.

You will not find a 2022 non hybrid TRD Pro.

The trd pro ONLY comes in hybrid and is a lower trim level then the 1974. Mid 60’s is most likely

Heard from my local dealer yesterday..just over $51k for the crewmax SR5 they are getting in. Unfortunately no off-road package which is what I was after. Guess I got some more thinking to do before it's to late.

No disrespect for you @Medic343…but this makes me happy I bought new in 2020 for 43.5k, no transmission cooler and all. IMHO that’s a lot of money for a fairly basic pickup with possibly better tires and wheels.

Unfortunately these days you’ll probably have to accept whatever add ons the dealer is doing. The adventure tire/wheel is probably just a more aggressive tire tread. The offroad package isn’t worth that much, if you’re wanting to offroad you would already upgrade all of it anyways

These aren't dealer add-ons, but actually distributor or port-installed options that form part of the Monroney sticker MSRP. Dealers pretty much have no say in this.
BS dealer add-ons are window tint, nitrogen tires, protective film
