    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    I say forget Tesla...
Toyota's already snuck in ahead of everyone else in the truck market with an electric truck, just in time for the holidays....AND it a Tundra to boot!!!!!

I damn near bought this bitch just cause...
'but they wouldn't let me drive it out the store, which was the ONLY way I wanted to go out the door with it.

'And yes...I asked the tire guys...you can put 15's on it without rubbing.

Why can't full electric cars, mainly Tesla, build a electric vehicle that looks good, or even remotely close to truck. I think the Tesla's are ugly as shit. I wouldn't take it, if you gave it to me, if I had to keep it and drive it.

Just my opinion, I've seen door stops that have more thought put into the aesthetic design

Me: It’s hideous and I hate it.

Also me: I’ll take one wrapped in matte black

In all seriousness I have a love hate relationship with the design already. It’s insane to the point that it is absurd, but maybe that’s a good thing? I’m not sure. A lot of the built in features of the truck are great. I’ve been saying for a long time truck manufacturers should have built in rails for a waterproof, locking, sliding bed cover. Rivian did the same thing. You should also be able to use those rails to simply slide a hard shell into the bed as well IMO. The load ramp is an interesting concept as well. Would I buy one.....most likely not. Would I rock one if someone handed me the keys and said use it, abuse it, test it, tow with it, and let me know what you think? ABSOLUTLY!

I’ve seen numbers all over the place for Tesla battery replacement cost. It seems the larger batteries like in a model S cost over 20k. How does that work? So imagine I buy this fugly thing and finance it for 5 years. Say the average depreciation over 5 year is about 50%. By time it’s paid off my 50k truck is worth 25k. With a Tundra that’s no problem. It’s still got a lot of life left in it. If this thing is on the verge of needing a 20k+ battery, how is it worth anything?

If my truck was paid off, I’d probably lease one for a year just as an experiment for my own amusement, but until that, probably not.

The more I look at it, the more it reminds me of a Warthog from Halo. Just need to remove the doors and stick a minigun in the back.

If it wasn't for the efforts from Apple and the invention of the iPhone, we'd still be using an old technology blackberry with a 2.8' screen today or maybe the HP ipaq's.
so without new technology to challenge the market, the pickup truck industry will just sit there and ride on old technology as long as it takes.

I don't like the design of some tesla's but I do welcome their innovative ideas that have challenged today's automotive technology and won. E.g If it wasn't for tesla's big-screen infotainment system and its innovative idea's to computerize a lot of push-button function and make all-in-one we'd still have a cassette player rolling out in 2020 model's.

Simply put I may not like the design but I welcome tesla's push to change and challenge today's norm in the automotive industry.

It is polarizing and easy for the internet to pile on and bag on it but Tesla won't have any problem selling them. I'd take a tri motor one.

The looks are the only polarizing thing, but they are also nothing near what a production vehicle would be. Regulations for passenger and pedestrian safety would change the looks a lot before it ever hit an assembly line. This was smart marketing, because everything about it was designed to pique interest and generate buzz. This is a TUNDRA forum, and we have 6 pages of varying levels of discussion. Very effective design for it's intended purpose.

    Pros:

Adjustable air suspension with built in air compressor.

Highest front end clearance in class

    0-60 in under 3 seconds

Cool tailgate with built in ramp

Bullet proof body for gangster shit

    Almost unbreakable windows

    Crazy tow rating

    Cons:

Doesn’t look like it’s meant to be driven on this planet

I wish that con wasn’t such a big one for me.

LOL. That works with most trucks. That guy behind you is just gonna jump up on the roof while standing there making the “suck it” gesture at you while his self driving truck passes you going 374mph in 9.5 seconds.

One thing I've learned in life: I'm always wrong. [I've learned to live with it.]

After watching the video provided by @Squatting Pigeon, it's easy to see that, some day, not too far in the future-- this is going to happen--and, it's going to work.

    If not Tesla, then someone.

I couldn’t agree more. I love the disruptive nature of Tesla and Elon. I do think he’s a complete nut job after watching the reveal last night, but whatever. As long as he doesn't impact my family or taxes he can circle-e-jerk all he wants. If I’m being honest, I think I’m more pissed that the ugly truck won’t keep a fire to the big 3. I really want to push the envelope here.
