IMHO it is ugly, it is impractical, and i am serious you wouldn't catch me dead in it, if someone put me on it after i died i'd come back and haunt them for the rest of their natural live. i dont see any serious truck person caught dead driving one of those. Unless they change that design that truck wont sell at least it wont sell to truck people. I have never liked Elon Musk but after that reveal i think he should stick to what he knows best, smoking weed.

Can't drive it from the lower 48 to Alaska regularly, can't camp out in the woods for weeks, and can't heavy haul long distance. :ohsnap:

    THAT was a joke.

Forget supercharger. I would not mind these specs on Tundra (I believe some of the specs are for the top model)

    Specs (from Tesla):

    • Range: 500+ miles
    • 0-60 mph acceleration: <2.9 seconds
    • Towing capacity: More than 14,000 lbs
    • Payload: Up to 3,500 lbs
    • Vault length: 6.5 feet
    • Storage capacity: 100 cubic feet of exterior, lockable storage including the vault, frunk, and sail pillars.
    • Suspension: 4” in either direction
    • Touchscreen size: 17”
    • Body: Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel. If there was something better, we’d use it.
    • Seating capacity: Up to six adults
    • Charging: Can be charged at home, at Destination Charging locations, and with our network of more than 14,000 Superchargers, including on our newest V3 technology, which is helpful for long hauls and towing.

I like the idea. Not a huge fan of the look but I doubt that will be the final iteration. As I've said before though, here in Canada outside of a major city electric vehicles just aren't a viable alternative.

I'm actually more interested in the ATV he casually mentions they made...

Actually, as I remember, when 2014 Tundras came out, most members did not like the look. Fugly was the most common term applied when describing it. Then we changed.

But, any of the specs it has, I would be thrilled to have it. I would not mind going from 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds. Stainless steel body sounds impressive. I would not mind air-suspension that can raise and lower the truck, depending on the load and use. I definitely would not mind having 3500 payload. . . . 17" touchscreen . . .

Yeah, I knew it wasn't @chphilo [but appreciate the clarification anyway].

Even if we had an electron microscope and could observe past the cellular level, we still couldn't measure my lack of interest in the Tesla.

That said, I'm sure we'll all be driving hovercrafts [or some such crap] someday.:D

I LOVE my Tundra, and I am not ashamed or afraid to admit it.:bananadance:

And this is where a hybrid Tundra steps in to win. Gasoline range, convenience, with the instant tourque of the electric. Yes, I sometimes miss my hybrid Camry, I could usually beat most cars off the line.

Next thing to watch is the crash tests, I think that strong steal is going to be a downfall if there are no crumple zones.
