This is what happens when Mr. Musk watches the Back to the Future movies and takes styling queues from the Delorean.

If I put 5100s up front would I need shackles in back to maintain some factory rake at mid setting?

I love it, we’ve been watching sci fi movies for years wanting to have one of those vehicles and now they have become a reality. I’ll wait to see what Toyota is coming up in regards to the next gen Tundra, but I see myself buying one probable after the first production year it’s been on the road for a while.

If you are working undercover, that won't do. That thing will get more attention than jacked up Tundra, for sure. It needs a mini cannon to go with it though.

What I like is what it will do to EV market. With Tesla truck undercutting the price of other EV truck makers, prices are bound to come down.

It will sell. The design is bold af but Elon himself (praise be) even said it's a love it or hate it design. For me, some angles look cool and others look awful. I'm torn.

    Overall, I like it.

The entire goal here is to generate buzz and get people like us talking about it. It worked!

I'm convinced they intentionally make them ugly as sin. The crazier it looks the more we talk about it.

Nope. Heavy loads, dirt roads, and the craptastic Michelin AT2 tires.

The first set had about 40% tread left, but were useless. The second set I had siped and they work a little better. Down to 7/32 and they don’t perform anymore as well.

Wow him and his designers were ultra high during this design maybe they slipped in some mushrooms during the final design run! While Mad Max and Blade runner was playing in the background!

Not only that but it's polarizing. It will sell. Every bro trucker will want one to stand out.

It's practical as hell for everyday use. Your long haul boys aren't going to want it due to charging on the highway but your around the town, home Depot shopping, adventure seeking, boatin people will eat it up.

With the base model starting at 40k and having 250+ mile range (which I am sure they will all go up) is a great deal.

I was moreso asking because you asked about the instant torque. Electric cars are extremely docile unless you just floor it really quick.

Well, they got all of those things taken care of. Unless you spend weeks out in the middle of no where camping in your truck, drive to Alaska from the lower 48, or do a lot of long haul towing, electric vehicles are absolutely on par with gas vehicles.

Go drive an electric car. You'll change your mind about that silly v8 as well.

You're assuming I've never driven an electric vehicle. That means you're assuming I'm ignorant. I don't appreciate that.
You also listed 3 perfectly good reasons why electric vehicles are not on par with gasoline or diesel fueled vehicles. Try living somewhere that doesn't have the quick charging stations, average miles per day are in the hundreds, add wind and hills, and you've got a 4th reason. The range on that electric vehicle doesn't cut it.
Finally, I specified joy, a unique and individual thing that is not quantifiable or universal. What gives me joy may not give others joy, etc. So, I will keep my "silly" V8 and enjoy it. I've had faster and more fuel efficient vehicles. That's not the only source of joy.

I'll be surprised if Atlis ever goes into production.

Also, The base price for the 230-mile version of the R1T truck is $62,000.

Lol. Damn dude, you ok? You do realize that I'm agreeing with you that they aren't for everyone right now. Right? I'm saying that electric cars fit the bill for 95% of their use.

You said "...you get me to the same performance, reliability, ease of repair/maintenance, longevity, fuel availability, purchase price, cost of ownership, resale value, etc. as what I have now..."

I told you that they have already taken care of those things. Then listed items that might hold someone back due to extreme situations. Lol.

Also, it's funny that someone makes a joke about a V8 and you get tied up in it. Chill bro. It's just fun banter.

    Ahhh. Goodness.

It's definitely different. I like it. And how much miles jacked up Tundras go with a tank of gas? I only get somewhere between 100-200 miles in the winter. For my use, I could go with electric. I don't have a Tesla, but my brother got one for his wife's birthday. Silent as a cat. No issues. I would feel comfortable going with Tesla.
