THANK YOU. Was going 4x4 but I would not have thought to upgrade tank. Very useful.

Welcome from CO. I think you will be very happy with the Tundra. I’ve had 3 Tacos and a 4Runner and this is by far my favorite.

I just wish I knew how to get better gas mileage @T-Rex266. :D

4.0 is a great motor. Sometimes I miss my tacoma until I hop back into the Tundy.

Yep, same here. Tundra has way more power and about the same if not better mpg. Not to mention, alot more room.

I agree. The 4.0 is a bulletproof engine. I believe the 4Runner is still running them.

I will say I really dig my roll down rear window, dual climate control and moon roof but I would have been happy with the lower trim level. The 5.7 is a proven engine with plenty of power. Get one..

Not in Colorado you won’t. Lol. We would get a mud hole kicked in our asses by some smokejumpers. Lol

    Fires out!!! Lol

I’m not sure smoking indoors isn’t banned right now. It is outside.

Get the Tundra. You will love the power of the 5.7 and the extra room. The SR5 is a geat package. But if you want leather and dual climate control limited is the way to go.

You could look at any model but the pro really. The rest just get the 4x4. Then you select you interior trim that you want since switching out suspension.

Nothing wrong with SR5 though...it's what I have and I love the truck as is.

The 38 gallon tank comes with the "SR5 Upgrade package" just mentioning that cause some people aren't sure.

Well, I cannot talk you out of the Tundra, but will say that the GAS PUMP will LOVE you. It sounds like money is not a problem, but if you EXPECT any decent milage then TACO is the way to go. Otherwise the TUNDRA is it. Got 190k on my 1st year tundra and plan on another 200k or so...

And there are several of US trial and error guys here. I did not get 4x4 in the first year model. For the price now, I wish I had.........just sayin'. Also rear leafs on 1st gen Tundra's are WEAK as well. That is not limited to the TACO.....

"the GAS PUMP will LOVE you"

That is the truth. My two dissatisfactions with my Tundra are the shitty gas mileage and the lack of keyless entry/ remote start.

Relatively minor in the grand scheme of things. I knew about these issues pre-purchase.

Everyone talks about shitty gas mileage with the tundra. I get better gas mileage in the tundra than I did with my 08 Tacoma.

And the factory pumps out a ton so the dealerships have more wiggle room on price... not a ton, but you don’t have to look quite as hard for 8-10% off Msrp (not including government or dealer fees).

    Yep! Right there with you...

Only I have remote start from the dealer... damn thing cuts off when you unlock the doors... aftermarket is the way to go... can get push button start after market too.

About the only thing you can’t add is a sunroof... but I’m good without it.

“Smiles per gallon”, not miles. Whoever coined that, 100% true every time I step in.

"Trial and error” can be a costly endeavor when it comes to vehicles. There’s also “Do it right once”. Buy it to your desire the first time such as a Tundra with a sunroof, almost anything else you can mod in afterward, eg; better Katzkin leather, DDeeds muffler etc. Tacos are great and I almost got one but it would have meant not upgrading our PUP to a travel trailer. New RV or not, in retrospect without a doubt, I personally would be regret waking up to a Taco in my driveway instead of a 1/2 ton 5.7 Tundra.

I can't stress enough that you need to ditch the Taco and get a Tundra.

Get the 5.7l... it’s 1-2 mpg worse, but the power is totally worth it!! I’m on 20” rims with the TSS off road tires (gulf cost upgrade package). Stock height I can get 16-17 on the freeway (could probably get better if I kept it under 70 mph... but I’m usually closer to 85....). City is more like 13mpg in stop and go... beast mode is more like 10-11mpg... :D
