Man! It’s been raining like crazy here in Austin, my truck is already filthy, I had it for 2 days without rain. Can’t wait for it to clear up so I can give it a wash!

Looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing my truck tonight.

They have it for 11 hours today and I live 1.5 miles from the shop. If it has to sit, I'm good with that. I'll take 2 wheels tomorrow instead of 4.

The shop has phenomenal ratings and reviews. They we're thorough in answering my questions. I'm confident that this will be a good experience.

I'm still unsure what to apply afterwards.

I have my appointment for the initial detail and inspection Monday. They do a free detail job 3 weeks after the install to make sure there's nothing that needs to be corrected (honestly not sure if this is more for the clear bra or the ceramic). I took mine out Sunday and got it dirty on a dirt road, was going to spray it off last night but we got rain instead. I think the rain did enough to get me through to my appointment on Monday morning.

All of this talk about rain is making me very uncomfortable. I'm a summer creature.

I don’t know what brand coating they are using, so double check what I say with your installer / google.

I assume just about anything will be ok on top of the coating. I highly recommend both Carpro Reload and P&S Beadmaker as a sealant. I haven’t tested it scientifically, since I can’t leave my truck alone long enough, but Reload seems more durable, and Beadmaker is shinier.

Reload is the manufacturer recommended topper for CQuartz coatings. Beadmaker claims to be compatible with all coatings.

You can check my review here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/p-s-bead-maker-review.31713/

I SUSPECT that Reload lasts longer, but it’s just a gut feeling. Like I said, I have a need to constantly experiment, so I’m not sure I’ve ever let any product live out it’s life without being reapplied or replaced.
For example, it’s been exactly a month since I posted that review. As of a couple days ago, I used Carpro Eraser and a good cleaning to get as much Beadmaker off as possible, and replaced it with Jescar Powerlock Plus. (I’m digging it, and will elaborate once more time has passed.)

Well, there was some miscommunication/misunderstanding. They've kept the truck overnight and it won't be ready until late afternoon tomorrow. It breaks my heart to see an empty place in the driveway. They're using Ceramic Pro Silver. I can't wait to see it!

War Machine, I'll check out the Bead Maker post and come back here if I have questions. Thanks!

I just picked it up and it looks great. They detailed the whole truck. I didn't expect that but I sure do appreciate it. Everything outside was coated. Glass, trim, wheels, paint etc. I asked about using a product such as Bead Maker or Reload. He said he wasn't familiar with them and began to steer me towards something that Ceramic Pro makes. We began talking about how I'm not supposed to do anything to the truck for 2 weeks and never got back to the coatings.

Once the smoke begins to clear frof my credit card I'll start looking at the next truck item. My list is growing.

I think I'm pretty happy. After my 2 week wait and free wash, I'll have a better opinion formed.

I can't just add a picture, it has to be hosted on a 3rd party site? If that's the case, I'll load up when I'm at the desktop tonight.

Come on, you gotta give us some pics!

Definitely follow their recommendations as for maintenance. I know CQuartz calls for Reload and hour after application, but I don’t know what Ceramic Pro recommends.

In Erie Pennsylvania I know two people who got a ceramic coat on the vehicle for less than $300 one was a jeep and one was a Chevy Silverado

The finish is so slick. Even my girlfriend noticed how shiney and slick the paint is and she doesn't notice anything or care about cars.

This place seriously kicks ass!! I’ve been on forums since the Delphi Days of the old TTORA (Toyota Offroad) board (year 2000), and although that one was awesome - this one tops it, and all others. Such great people and solid info

Damn!!! That looks great! Your rig, and everyone else’s on here is crazy nice! :eek2:
I’m super interested in this ceramic process!!
Not for the Tundra though lol (lexus).
My poor Tundra gets the rock-magnet motorized car washes

Edited to add - it does get a spot in the garage though! :D

I’ve nearly talked myself out of it. I’m never going to get the time, I’m not confident I can get it polished well enough due to lack of skill, and I’d really miss detailing it.

I was on the fence about the ceramic coating but after watching this thread I now have an appointment to drop my truck off on Monday. Supposed to come with a life time warranty we will see how that works. They are also going to ceramic coat the under side. Any of you guys coated the under side of your truck?

Since having the truck coated, I've noticed that my ETs are down, MPGs are up and supermodels follow me around everywhere I go. What a curse. :)

Booyaa, what are you running for wheels? I've not seen a setup that eliminated multiple lugnuts for one big fat one. That's got to be some sort of center cap that's hiding the lugnuts, no?

The attention from women has nothing to do with the coating. Your truck is black. Just a forewarning, you’re going to experience a growth spurt downstairs also. I did the math. It’s about a ten percent increase in girth per 10 thousand miles.

If it becomes too much to handle, drive a white truck for a while. It kind of reverses the odometer.
