Looks amazing. What coating did you use, and if you don’t mind me asking, what was the damage?

I paid $500.00 for full detail, paint correction, and the coating. That said, this is the lowest price I’ve ever seen posted anywhere. I got a smoking deal on it. Most places charge twice that at least. Where are you located?

    That is a great deal.

I'm in CA, and as most people know, I'm getting taken to the cleaners on quotes....

I can imagine. I was in California twenty years ago, and couldn’t believe how expensive everything was. I read the other day that with a 105k income in San Francisco you qualify for housing assistance. Insane how much income and cost of living varies in one country.

I’ve been checking into this where I live. I must have been wrong my understanding of the coating being lifetime. Had one guy quote me $550 guaranteed for 3 years using croftgate assurance. Another company told $350 for 3 years, $600 for 5 years, and $800 for 9 years. Plus add $60/hour for paint correction. They use GTechniq coating. Is this normal for the different year levels?

I not sure there is a "normal" for all practical purposes. A lot of the variables for the actual "warranty" is so subjective as is the pricing it's so hard to know. The prevalence of these coatings on a larger applied scale has only been around for less than a decade. GTechniq is only one a quite a few companies that manufacture there version of the SI02 compounds. Each one having similar yet still some characteristic differences. My truck above has the Opticoat Pro as a base layer foundation with the GTechniq coating over the top of it. There are different adhesion and interlocking chemical mechanisms at play. My guy knows a lot of the companies and developers and has taken the time to R&D as well as to get to know the relative science behind it all. When I speak with him I have to really concentrate on what he is saying as it starts to get heavy into specific vernacular and relative nomenclature.

Bottomline is nothing with ceramics is "lifetime" and periodic cleaning regimens and lightly spray coating with specific synthetic waxes (anything carnauba based will gum up the coating to an extent) dramatically extends the life of the coating along with its overall resilience. No more brush car washes for sure. Even the brushless washes are only good if the water is not hard which it often is and will leave water stains and marks from the minerals. That's why drying it off with a microfiber towel with a detail spray (synthetic wax/cleaning formula) makes a huge difference. The longer warranty periods most likely figure in a reapplication of the coating if you keep the vehicle long enough to submit a claim. The original installer would also need to still be around to support the claim. The only relative "bullet proof" coating is protective film and that runs into many thousands for an entire vehicle and even then a top coating of an SI02 will often be applied though by no means is it necessary, just brightens the aesthetics. The one or two bucket methods of cleaning once again can come into play and retraining oneself to incorporate all this keeps it interesting to say the least.

Unfortunately not, how I wish. A friend of mine. I am in the same boat as you for mine. Trying to figure out some sort of "carport situation" to at least get it out of direct element exposure.

I just found out my truck fits inside the in-laws garage. I just have to drive 2 hrs from the DC area. Time to read a little more on these coatings to make sure my Inferno shines.

Where does the roof of your Tundra go up to? I’m just under 7foot and barely get the truck in the garage...

After doing my truck a few months ago I had enough ceramic left for the wife’s new highlander. Two bucket wash, paint correction, Cquartz, Reload, DLUX on all trim, headlights, taillights and wheels. FlyBy on all the glass. Shit I’m tired. FF8B8561-0671-4182-B8C5-015D6725CAAB.jpg

Not sure. My issue is the garage door opener. I haven’t even tried to get my current truck in there. Neither my 2011 Tundra nor my wife’s Sequoia would fit without hitting it. I could clear the door with them, but not the opener.

Is that for vehicles with ceramic already or this is actual ceramic coating?

Supposedly it’s a coating by itself. I haven’t read much on it, but it’s supposed to have six month durability.
