    Followwing. I did try Vvivid
Following. I bought VViVid smoke but I failed,. Those small two "shark pins" on the taillight giving me a hard time. I ended up removing it an decide to save some money on Winjet smoke tailghts. Still have the stocks and I will wait for the results when you're done. Plspost some pix. Thanks

Here’s the original article, it’s not PD, it’s a bad prep and application of VHT-N:
    https://www.gencoupe.com/exterior-2...le-scratches-through-tint.html#/topics/256129

No ill to those who do it right, it’s just not forgiving if it’s done wrong, you can’t just peel it off, claybar, clean and start again, or leave it be shiny stock again.

I’d play with the 3rd using any method including VHT, it sits high and is always seen at a reasonable distance, at worst it’s cheap to replace the cover.

For the tails, I’d get Recons, Winjets, Spyders, or those Amazon ones that look OEM. Anything spray or wrap needs professional application. If it wasn’t for those damn fins I’d be following this like for other vehicles:

So after 3 hours and many little pieces of tint I threw in the towel. Those little fins are no joke!

I am contemplating night shades, but I need to get my motorcycle on the road first. Just so I have a mode of transportation.

4 light coats followed by 24-48 hours to dry followed by a wet sand, a few coats of clear, drying time, and a final wet sand will have them looking nice.

I'll need about a month though. Way to much going on right now.

If you read my post I specifically stated that if light output was bad I would put LEDs in.

Thank you for what you do though, it's not an easy job.

Sounds about right. I used a heat gun and tried several techniques I found on YouTube. If the fins werent there it would have been pretty easy.

Went to a local wrap shop today and they quoted me $60 to wrap the tail lights. I got on their list about 2 weeks out.

If you get it to dark, some places won't inspect your truck. I had a truck with dark lenses and TXDPS wrote me a ticket...

Be interesting to see how much trouble they give the pros

Luckily here in SC there are no vehicle inspections. I also plan on replacing all tail light bulbs with led from Vled. Getting the headlights wrapped as well but they will not be near as dark as the tail lights.

3-2 lift, rear air bags, AMP steps, Retrax tonneau, 18" HD rims w/ 33" tires, large 3" Bullbar, murdered out - future plan to tint headlights & tail lights, CAI, and aggressive muffler w/ no hwy drone.
Sounds complicated and not many options in San Antonio, TX. Has anyone tried the AVS tail light covers? How do they look?
