Did you get the sport? see I debated on getting like a limited or an off-road but I mean yeah I could swap out all the parts for non chrome parts but I don't know I just think I'm going to like the sport better.

Eww not the taint-stain! A few of the infernos I looked at had that crap.
Took me 6 months to find my truck.. Hold out for the one you want. I wanted the bedliner also but wasn't going to lose out on my truck over it, it has 10k miles and was babied and had every other option I wanted. Having it rhino-lined this summer but gotta recover from the $1550 in TracRacs I just ordered yesterday:bananadead:

I got the TRD Off Road. They didn't have the Sport option in inferno where they ended the color in 2018. Un-chroming is on the list later.

If I had the option between the two packages, I would've done Off Road still though. It's more suited for the towing i'll be doing and the remote access to flying sites I'll be using it for.

yeah that was the only thing I was on the fence about was getting a sport or getting a off road. I made my campers maybe about 4800 lb dry so I think the sport should be fine plus I'm probably eventually going to upgrade the shocks anyways. And I could always add things like the sway bars to a off-road model. I don't know I always had sport tacomas and last year was the first time I ever had an off-road one. but the poor taco can't handle my camper very well so I'm trading in my lease early to get a tundra

On a tundra forum you're going to get a general consensus of drive both and you tell us. I would say 95% of people after climbing in both end up swinging to the Tundra. No love lost on the Tacos though (or the 4runner) I just think when you lay down on the v8 the car moves where I felt like I had to lean into the v6 to creep along. Also you can move a family of 5 into the cab of the Tundra and sell your house so its a win-win.

Easy enough to get a bedliner added yourself afterwards, either at the dealership or a third party shop. Just make sure they knock $500 off the price of the truck.

I just bought my Tundra on Saturday. My Limited was 53k MSRP with another 2k in add-ons. I got them down to 47k then add tax title doc I was $52k out the door on a fully loaded limited... I was a hardcore Tacoma lover and this truck is by far superior.

When I was trail running with people driving CJ5 and CJ7 vehicles I was glad to have the narrower and shorter Tacoma truck. But with camping and general load hauling a larger bed and especially one with 4 feet between the wheel wells is not something I would forgo. Gas mileage is mediocre with either vehicle though worse for the Tunda but the tank capacity is nearly double with the Tundra so not a big difference in range with a full tank of gas. With the changes in the EPA regs one cannot buy a larger aftermarket gas tank so one has to rely on what is available from the factory.

    Amen to that.
Husband has the 8ft bed on his tundra and rubs it in whenever I have to haul with my tailgate down:rolleyes: The 6.5ft works just fine though

Speaking of hauling I just drive 7.5 hours to Zion National Park towing a 3,900lbs trailer loaded up for weekend and I got between 9-10.8 mpg but driving up hill majority of time 6-7% grade in some places. On level ground it liked to sit at 74 and cruise at 2100RPM. Then again I still have some breaking in to do. After trip it only has 1300 miles on it

Loved my last Tacoma, virtually problem free..lots of flak for the 3rd gen Tacoma on how it shifts and drives...honestly it drove like it was supposed to. Yes it shifted here and there on the freeway, it isn’t as bad as what the other Taco owners whined about. What I wasn’t expecting was how much my small family hated riding in it longer than a trip across town :(. They never wanted to take my truck anywhere. The effortless power and cruising speed, comfort and ride...my Limited Taco felt jittery at best on my crappy NM roads...this new truck soaks up the roads so so much better. I friggin love this truck...I loved all my tacomas I’ve owned but the Tundra feels juuuussttt right :D.

Just traded my 17 double cab long bed taco in on a 2020 Black TRD Sport...I’m in love and although the taco was a great truck, myself and my family out grew it very fast!

Had a 14 Tacoma and just upgraded to a 19 Tundra a month ago. I love driving pretty much anywhere now. Gas mileage is not much lower, way more room, and much more comfortable. I liked my Tacoma but I love my Tundra.

I previously owned a ‘12 Tacoma and loved it. I missed that truck so I ended up going for a ‘19 Tacoma. I miss it, but I had a lot of gripes that just made sense for me to jump bigger. One was the transmission. The taco would shift up and down, rev high, had no ass until I put on ECT. Granted, this was stuff I decided to deal with until I needed a tow hitch and didn’t have one. So, I made the jump to a Tundra two weeks ago.

I am certain I made the right choice at this point. I don’t have the crazy shaking when I start up the Tundra, I can overtake on the freeway, the transmission knows it’s job, I know that I have the power to tow and I have just as much room as the double cab Tundra as I did in the Tacoma. I love how roomy the tundra is and how comfortable I am driving it. I no longer feel like I’m laying down.

The only thing I don’t like about the Tundra is how fast it chugs the gas, but I already expected that.

yeah I have to admit I absolutely loved my 2010 Tacoma but this one for some reason just doesn't seem to have the same feel to it I don't know why. It just feels annoying to drive. and thankfully my daily driver is a Corolla hatchback so gas won't affect me too much

I was kind of in the same boat. My 3rd gen Taco was a little shifty but honestly I really liked it overall around town which is most my driving. However my wife hated it with the little one in the back and always complained about riding in it. She was the one that pushed me to go back to a Tundra (had one before Taco). I would still be in the Tacoma if she hadn't complained so much. I love both trucks for different reasons. Overall the Tundra is better family truck and does have a sweet powertrain. The only time I'm sad is when in tight parking lots or off roading (some trails just too narrow). Plan to get a secondary small off roader at some point to solve that itch though.

Absolutely couldn’t agree more, loved my Taco if it was just me. The Tacoma is an adventure truck, meant to take you into some pretty cool places, haul mountain bikes and hiking equipment and what not...the Tundra is a “people” mover...just meant for moving people around comfortably and your equipment as well...I know it’s not ideal to traverse narrow trails or climb like a billy goat but...I’m slowly starting to realize it might be just the right truck to compromise between the two worlds, these tundras with atrac in either 4h or 4lo are pretty damn capable on trials
