This was from the bd discussion

So with the switch pro all you need is the positives. For the ditches just parallel them. Positive to positive and negative to negative. Extend them out. Ground the parallel negative to a good ground. And run the parallel positive to the switch pro/desired switch#/pin out.

Programming the switch pro. I’ve only gone so far with it but from the app you can choose when the switches can be activated. With or with out ignition is the only one I can remember off the top of my head.(I am out of range right from the truck to pull up the settings and show you) a lot of other cool options too. One of my favorite is auto kill with low battery detection-kills the SP system if you leave em on with truck off and battery is near dead. If I can get in range i’ll Screen shot some of the options for you if u want.

You guys deserve the middle finger for ruining my hopes and dreams!!

Ok, fine. If it's not a great idea I can handle it like a big boy. I won't do it, but if it's dark and I can't see to hurt someone's feelings then it's all your fault!!

I agree with @BlueBottle, it could definitely be done with relays but it would be messy.

With the Switch Pros, you can also program one of you switches to be a master switch. Hit that button and it will turn on every switch you have it programmed to turn on. The only thing thing is that you have to turn them all off manually.

    I'm going to.

I'm just not impressed with my high beams and live in an area where I can use my off road lights on the road. I would love to be able to just kick the light arm when I encounter oncoming traffic, which would, and can be infrequently. It's really not that big of a deal. I'm just asking around in case there was a simple solution

LOL... Well that is the reason why you bought a Switch Pro system right...? but @RowdyRon nailed it.. if you really wanna wire up both with what you wanna do.. you are looking at a bird's nest of wires some where.

So I had my switches up in the overhead console. I would drive with my LED lights on when there weren’t any other cars on then road.

I found it very irritating to drive with my finger on the button to turn them off in case a car came around the corner. Because of that I moved the controller down by the shifter. It’s a more natural place to rest my hand to activate the buttons.

I know I probably shouldn’t be using the lights on city streets or where there’s a possibility of blinding oncoming cars.

Just something to think about when considering panel placement.

Tomorrow may work if you’re aren’t taking the board out and haven’t done this yet. I still need to check schedules with Bec. I walked in the door from the airport yesterday and she walked out. We won’t see each other till later today.

What you are wanting to do can be done on a single relay, but you would have to use a diode on the positive wires that are being used to trigger the relay. One on the positive wire coming from the SP and one on the positive wire from the high beam. If you don't know what a diode is, it is basically a check valve for current. Then either one could turn on the same relay without sending voltage backwards to the other source, but where this gets just a little more complicated is that if you wanted to be able to run your high beams with out the pillar lights, then you would have to install a switch in line between where you are getting the positive signal for the high beams from and the relay. This would let you enable/disable the pillar lights with the high beams. Basically switch on, pillar lights come one with high beams; switch off, high beams with no pillar lights. SP would not be affected by the switch and would turn the lights on whenever you wanted.

Thanks for this piece! I have heard the term but had no idea what it was.

Not to convolute my brain any further but do you have any idea where I might find a reputable sketch of the setup? I'm more interested in just the A pillars as my high beams so if it's too complicated for my little brain then I might just run them to the switch like everyone else is encouraging me to do.

    BUT....if I had a sketch I bet I would attempt it

See if this helps, "switch 1" would be the + trigger from the SP, "switch 2" would be the + trigger from the high beams. The little triangle with the line is the diode, the triangle indicates current flow. The only thing missing is that you would have to add a toggle switch between wherever you get the + trigger from the high beam circuit and diode for "switch 2", so that you could isolate the pillar lights from the high beams, if you didn't want the pillar light to come on with the high beams.

Even though insulated, I would pull that positive cable away from the negative terminal, but I am hoping that you already did that. On a side note, why didn't you buy wiring loom while you were here?!?!

Like I said, I have tidying up to do. In appreciation for your love of cold, I decided to do the install when it was 9 degrees and 39 mph winds :D

I have some tidying up to do but the positive cable was moved after the pic was taken

Anymore critiquing will be appreciated, but embarrassing
