Shameless plug from me: I have a SPod with the ARB harness that I've never used. It's still in the box, comes with labels and everything. Would there be any interest in taking it off my hands from someone on here? I was thinking about selling it locally but this could change things.

This is acutally a common issue, that I tried talking to Switch pros about...its common to run just the switch panel inside, and with that very large connector on it. It is hard to find a place at times.
Acutally the only downside i see to it so far....coming from some one who has installed a few.

How are YOU getting it through the firewall?

I can imagine in a different vehicle might need more slack etc. Those wires(forgot what they were called) are really sensitive. I had some of that insulation front the tube come out and thought I ruined the damn thing jamming it through the grommet..
    Question for you Stanley:
I've seen tons of people run a switch pro-power wires into a blue sea fuse box then to the accessory. I mean I understand what it does, but is this NECESSARY or Overkill? At 18amps and the technology in the Switch pro system isn't it already safe enough? I also see some folks run relays as well. I'm not a wiring guru but maybe you can educate me a little more?

A couple more things. SDHQ sells a mount for then SP power module that gets the power module out of the way. It mounts between the battery and headlight. They also sell some micro relays that attaches to the module mount and keeps everything super clean. It allows you to run higher amp accessories. You can order them together and separate.

About the harness, if you’re comfortable doing it, you can unpin the 4 wires in the connector. That way you’re feeding 4 wires through the firewall and not a larger connector. Makes things much easier.

Last, I don’t have any info on the SP-9100. I read the release into on the SEMA page about new products. No idea about price or release date.

I will say SP is an AMAZING company to work with. I had some issues come up that I caused and they responded to my emails on the weekend after hours.

there's a grommet in the firewall on the driver side. you'll see it from the engine bay. the switchpros cable needs a bit of a hole cut. i made a slit with a box knife (on both sides, engine and driver foot well), taped the switchpros cable to a hangar and pushed it through.

I am not sure why some one would buy a Solid State setup, and then do this? I would how ever run the 100amp line on its own circuit protector, you can use the provided fuse, but i prefer breakers.

With that said, if a particular system has to much of an Amperage draw for these switch pros, then yes a fused/relay setup is probably the way to go.
However if you are within the limits of the SP, then you do not need to run additional protection. That is what they are making these for...to eliminate that. They have there own built in circuit protection.
As far installs, well yeah you just gotta pull the pins, which i don't recommend, unless you have the right tools. They will not warranty it if you mess with it. So normally i just make a large enough hole in a rubber grommet. or a larger hole and use my own grommets.

I have one installed already. I don't think I'll be needing another one unless I pick up another truck to play around with.. You give good prices on them? cheapest reputable spot I found em was from alternative off road, caught them on a sale for an additional discount.. I was told that a lot of bootlegs from Group buys have been going around..

Maybe someone here can help me. I have two sets of lights one Hi/lo the other I want to control for off/reverse/on. Does switch pros or Spod offer a three? throw switch that I can use these options on their switch banks? I have e-mailed the companies and have not heard back. I would prefer not to install the included Rigid three throw switch but will if either of these companies can't support. Thanks for any help.

I would think it would not be an issue. If you break it down, instead of having one 3 way switch, you could have two 2 way switches. Each switch can be powered by one of the outputs of either the switch pros or spod.

Hopefully someone will chime in to confirm.

as far as i know, at least from having a switchpros in my truck, the switches are all two way. you would need to use two switches. for example, if i wanted to use the back light option on my BD light bar, i'd use one switch for main on/off and a second to turn the back light on/off.

since you can use your own switches with spod, like the ones from otrattw, you may be able to wire up a 3 way, on/off/on, that works as you want. not 100% on that though.

I'm going to run it to the sunglasses flip down location for temporary purposes. When I was at SDHQ yesterday the dude that's building theirs said it should be ready by new years, so it's gonna hang out up there until its ready.
