This is the stance I am going for if I switch to the Icon 17” rims. In the circled picture, Icon outlines all the shit that was done to the truck. Is there a “poor mans” version to make it happen?

When you say poor mans are you referring to the suspension?

Is there a more affordable way to achieve that same stance and look with 17’s? I wish I had his money!

He is running Icon wheels and Falken 35-12.50-17’s....What would be a more affordable route to achieve the same stance and run the same tires/rims?

So lift wise I don’t see the major need to go icon stage 9 unless you really need it.toytec has a 3 inch suspension lift that would do just fine. Tire wise 35s are gunna cost you a little no matter what. And then when it comes to wheels I’m sure there’s cheaper wheels out there with similar specs. Maybe try procomp or look on discount tire they have cheaper wheels.

Just called 4wheel Parts, guy was saying he isn’t sure without test fitting.

I am cool with the spending the money on Icon Rebound wheels (cheaper than what I was originally looking at), and definitely ok with either Falken wildpeaks or Goodyear Wranglers.

Where I am trying to wrap my head around, is with the lift to achieve the look in the pics I posted above. Would a 3/1 Toytec get me there? Would Bilsteins at 2.5” get me there? Thats where I am having a tough time. Really don’t want to do the CMC, and of course 4wheel Parts said that might have to happen. 4wheel Parts also charges you for every fucking time they spray lubricant!

Yeah I’m not sure where abouts you live but if you live in the San Diego area I can recommend you to some decent shops for aftermarket install. I currently have the 3/1 Toytec/Eibach lift and I’m sure it will get you to that stance. I would go a full 3 for 35s. I think most people are doing the CMC for 35s and I wouldn’t be afraid of doing it. Your only option would be to go with a 295/70/18 which is slightly smaller then a 35 but I didn’t need a cmc with that size.

I’m in NC, so a short drive to Callie! Hahaha. I was switching to 17’s because the 18” rims I wanted, the company wouldn’t budge on the silver beadlock. ICON was willing to color match to the rim.

So focusing on 17” rims, with the 35-12.50-17 tires, and lets say I did a Toytec-Eibach 3/1, would I have to replace the control arms or do anything else? I am good with removing mud flaps, massaging plastic, just don’t want to have to start doing crazy shit.

Most would recommend new control arms I replaced mine when I did it. I went with SPC UCAs they were decently priced.

35's will require 3" of lift for full suspension functionality without rubbing. Body mount chop will pretty much be required with the 35, regardless of wheel choice. I would highly recommend going the coilover and uniball/delta joint upper arm. Going with a 2.5" diameter coilover will give you the ride quality that you are looking for while getting rid of the infamous Tundra nose dive. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

315-70/17s. Truck is just leveled with the PRO suspension. Removed the bumper liner, will be replacing the skid plate this weekend. No BMC.

A couple more pics here: ICON 17" Six Speed Wheels Picture thread :)

    Was just researching through this site, let me run this by you all, including @sdhq_offroad ;

    - Bilstein 6112's in front at 2.5"
    - Bilstein 5160's in rear
    - Icon Rebound rims
    - 315-70-17's

Seems like that might get me where I want to be without having to replace UCA's, or do a CMC. Thoughts?

Do you plan on lifting the rear at all? May be a bit nose high at 2.5 in the front.

Wasn't planning on doing anything to the rear. The other thought instead of Bilsteins was to go with the Toytec/Eibach 3&1. Whatcha think?

I messaged Joey, we’ve been chatting via PM. Thankful for his advice. Very cool.

I am thinking the 315-70-17 may be the route I go. Icon 17” Rebounds in satin black, and then figure out my lift.

This is 6112 at 2.5”, 295/70 R18, with a shim on the driver side for lean, you will need one. The oe driver coil is 1/4” taller than the passenger, shim replicates this. 5160 in the rear with 1.5” blocks. Very nice, not Fox, King, ADS good off-road by a bit, on road is good, you still have all the oe nvh of the factory shocks with the 6112. Diff drop is dumb, skip it. You will almost certainly need the CMC with the 315/70 R17. Uppers is truck by truck, varies, but I recommend biting the bullet and do them. Drives much better. As far as lift goes, the tire will pass through the whole range of suspension, so basically putting a 35” tire on a non lifted truck is no different than a lifted one for me, unless it’s a bracket lift.

Thanks for the feedback. Lots of folks that went to Icon 17” rims went with 315-70-17’s and did minimal trimming and no CMC. We’ll see!

Yeah, seems Icon is geared towards Tundras. They’re at +25 offset, and several folks that have them did 315-70-17 tires with minimal trimming.

My Icons with 295/70 R17 would need the chop if any bigger.
